Don't panic if you receive a request for more documents. This is a standard OKX compliance risk control process, not aimed at you personally. According to OKX public information, only about 1% of users are asked to submit additional source of funds information. The submission entry is in the App under [Identity Verification] or in the customer support ticket system.

Before submitting, first sort out the source of the money. OKX's review logic for source of funds is very direct: what you state and the documents you submit must match.

Step 1: Find the document submission entry

What to do: Find the page for submitting source of funds documents.

How to do it: Open the OKX App → bottom right [My] → [Identity Verification]. If the account status shows 'More information needed' or 'Under review', the page usually has a 'Submit documents' or 'Go to supplement' button.

If there is no entry on the [Identity Verification] page, go to [My] → [Support] → find 'Appeal' or 'Ticket system'. Explain your situation in the ticket, and the system will open an upload channel for you to submit documents.

Completion standard: A file upload button appears on the page, or customer support gives you clear submission instructions in the ticket.

Step 2: Prepare documents by source of funds type

OKX's required documents depend on the source of funds type you selected. Match your actual situation below.

Case A: Source of funds is salary (employee) Prepare: bank statements for the last 3 months showing the word 'salary' and company transfer records, plus proof of employment or payroll. Completion standard: your name, company name, and dates are clearly visible on the documents.

Case B: Source of funds is DeFi mining or airdrop Prepare: wallet screenshot (change the wallet name to your real name) plus a private key signature to prove the address is yours, along with income records from the mining platform or airdrop project. Completion standard: the screenshot can show your wallet address, transaction hash (TxID), and income amount.

Case C: Source of funds is withdrawal from another exchange (e.g., transferred from Binance) Prepare: go to the source exchange and export the account statement PDF for the last 3 months. It must show your real-name information. Also provide the on-chain hash (TxID) of the withdrawal to OKX. Completion standard: the PDF statement has your name, and the TxID can be found on a block explorer.

Case D: Freelancer or no fixed job Prepare: fill in 'no fixed employer' truthfully, but you must explain the specific income source (such as freelance work, e-commerce, etc.) and provide corresponding income proof. Completion standard: the income source explanation is reasonable, and the documents can support the relevant situation.

Case E: Source of funds is a loan Prepare: loan contract or loan platform statement. Completion standard: the documents show your name, amount, and loan institution information.

Common failure reason: documents do not match the selected source of funds type

This is the most common reason for rejection. For example, you selected 'salary' as the source of funds, but submitted an investment account screenshot. Or you selected 'DeFi income', but the submitted documents do not include a signature or screenshot proving that you own the wallet. Whatever category you choose, prepare documents according to that category.

Risk reminder: do not fake documents, and avoid sensitive addresses

OKX clearly states that if the source of funds involves addresses related to coin mixers or sanctioned entities, it will directly trigger risk control or even close the account. In addition, if the source of funds comes from non-compliant channels, the platform does not support it and will also close the account if found. Do not forge documents. Your account information and ID are real-name verified, and falsifying documents will directly affect normal account use.

How to verify after completing the process

After submitting documents, go to the Identity Verification page to check the status. If it changes to 'Under review' or 'Verified', the submission is successful. Review usually takes 2–6 hours, but some cases may take longer. During this time, do not repeatedly urge support or resubmit, because this can slow down progress. If rejected, the page will show the reason. Follow the prompt and submit the missing documents.
