Bottom line: Yes, you can, but you should stop using it.

On March 27, 2025, OKX updated deposit addresses for all users. After the update, old addresses can still receive funds for now, but you should replace saved addresses in external wallets with new ones within three months.

Step 1: Check whether your address has been updated

How to do it: Open the OKX app → tap Assets at the bottom → tap Deposit. Choose a coin, then check whether there is an "address update" notice at the top of the page. If yes, your address has been changed, and the one shown below is the new address.

Done when: You can clearly see the "address update" notice on the deposit page, or you can copy a complete deposit address normally.

Step 2: Can you still use the old address? It works now, but not forever

Case A: If you saved an old address before the update, will deposits still arrive? Yes. OKX has clearly stated that "old addresses can still be used for deposits for now and will not affect your trading." Assets sent to the old address will not be lost.

Case B: When should you switch? OKX recommends that you "finish updating your external whitelist addresses within 3 months and start using the new address." OKX has not given a clear cutoff date for old addresses after that, so it is not a good idea to keep risking transfers to the old address.

Step 3: How to update the new address in external wallets

If you normally deposit to OKX from another exchange or an on-chain wallet, replace the saved OKX deposit address in those places with the new one.

What to do: Copy the new address shown on the OKX deposit page into the withdrawal address book of your external wallet or exchange, and replace the old address.

How to do it if you use address book / whitelist mode: Go to your withdrawal platform, delete the old address, and add the new address. Note: On some platforms, whitelist mode may make you wait 24 hours before a new address can be used. Do not leave this until the last minute.

Done when: The new OKX address is already saved in your external wallet address book and does not need extra verification.

Common failure reason: Depositing USDT via BSC network no longer works

OKX currently does not support deposits of USDT and other assets through the BSC network. If you are still using the BSC chain to deposit USDT to OKX, it will most likely not arrive. BSC network only supports BNB deposits. Do not confuse the two.

Risk reminder: If you use the wrong network, OKX will not handle it

Whether you use an old address or a new address, OKX will not help you recover funds sent on the wrong network. If you choose the wrong network, the funds will be stuck on-chain. Customer support may only help check the status, but will not process it for you.

How to verify after updating

Go to AssetsDeposit, choose a coin, and look at the address shown on the page. If the address saved in your external wallet is different from the address shown on the page now, you are still using an old address. It is best to copy the new address now and update the places you use often. After updating, send a small test transfer first to make sure it arrives normally before sending a large amount.
