A common misconception: mainland Chinese users often ask "can I verify with a passport?" The answer is no. The OKX system only provides the ID card option for mainland China; even if a passport is uploaded, it will be rejected.

ID Card (Mainland Chinese Users Only)
What to do: Prepare a valid second-generation resident identity card. Both front and back photos must be submitted.

Capture both front and back, ensuring all four corners are fully visible, no glare, no obstructions
Photo size ≤2MB, resolution ≥600×800 pixels
Accepted file formats: JPG, JPEG, or PNG
Passport (For Non-Mainland Chinese Users)
What to do: Prepare your valid passport. Submit a photo of the personal information page.

The passport must be within its validity period
Upload the data page (containing photo, name, date of birth, validity period, etc.)
If applicable, you may need to upload the page with the latest entry stamp
Photo must be clear, all four corners fully visible, no glare
Driver's License (For Users in Certain Countries and Regions)
What to do: Prepare your valid driver's license. Submit photos of both front and back.

Additional Materials Required for Level 2 Advanced Verification
After completing Level 1 basic verification, if you need to increase your withdrawal limit (from about $10,000 to up to $1,000,000) and unlock all features such as futures, margin trading, and Earn products, you must upgrade to Level 2.
Level 2 requires the following additional submission on top of Level 1 materials:

Choose a well-lit environment with a plain background
Place the document flat on a solid-color background, making sure it's not folded
Ensure all four corners are captured within the frame; do not crop the edges
Avoid glare (adjust the shooting angle to avoid reflection from light sources)
Turn off beauty/enhancement features (beauty mode may cause facial recognition failure)
When is it considered done: The text on the document in the photo is clearly legible, no obstructions, no glare, and all four corners are fully visible.
Facial Recognition
What to do: Pass the liveness detection check to confirm you are the person operating the account.
How to do it:
Keep your face centered in the frame, with even lighting
Do not wear hats, sunglasses, or face masks
Follow the prompts to blink, turn your head, open your mouth, etc. (the whole process takes about 5 seconds)
If the first attempt fails, wait 2 minutes before retrying, up to a maximum of 3 attempts
When is it considered done: The system displays "Facial recognition successful".

How to Confirm After Verification is Complete
Once the KYC review is approved, the status on the [Identity Verification] page in the app will show as "Verified", and the system will send a notification via SMS or email. The review for Level 2 verification (including proof of address) usually takes 1–3 business days, subject to the platform's actual review progress.
