A friend in Argentina tried to buy USDT on Binance. He found only two or three payment methods available. Another friend in Vietnam opened Binance and saw a long list of local payment options.

Simply put, there is no single answer to which platform has more P2P payment methods. It depends completely on your region.

Core concept: Payment methods depend on sellers, not the platform

Many people think they can use whatever payment method the platform supports. That is not how it works.

P2P trading is direct trading between users. Payment methods are set by sellers themselves. The platform only provides a marketplace. Sellers decide which payment channels they accept, such as bank transfer, Alipay, WeChat, or e-wallets. Buyers use whatever payment method the seller offers in their ad.

So asking which platform has more payment methods really depends on how many active sellers are in your region, and how many different payment options those sellers provide.

Platform support comparison: Who has the edge on paper?

Official data shows the two platforms are similar in payment diversity:

ComparisonBinance P2POKX P2P
Supported payment methodsOver 1,000Over 1,000
Supported fiat currencies100+ or 125+100+
CoverageMany countries; some regions face compliance limits160+ countries
Custom payment methodsCan add up to 20No verified data found

On paper, the two platforms are almost the same globally. But you are not buying globally; you are in one specific country.

Where is the real difference? Regional examples

Case A: Vietnam On Binance Vietnam's P2P page, buyers can choose bank transfer, MoMo, ZaloPay, Viettel Money and other local payment methods. This means in Vietnam, Binance gives you many choices. For OKX in Vietnam, no verified data was found.

Case B: Russia, affected by sanctions In August 2023, due to US sanctions on some Russian banks, Binance and OKX removed Tinkoff Bank and Sberbank from their P2P payment lists. However, OKX still allowed users to use other Russian banks, such as Russian Standard Bank and Raiffeisen Bank, to receive fiat. Those banks were not on the sanctions list at the time.

This example shows that in the same region, different compliance strategies can create different payment channels. Binance may be more conservative, while OKX may leave more options open.

Your next step: Do not guess. Check directly.

Before registering, check which payment methods are actually available in your region.

Steps:

  1. Open the Binance P2P page and the OKX P2P page.

  2. You can view without logging in: select your region or fiat currency, for example CNY, VND, or PHP, and look at the Payment method column in the seller list.

  3. Count how many different payment methods appear. Which ones do you actually use, such as Alipay, WeChat, or local bank transfer?

  4. Note: distinguish between platform-supported payment methods and payment methods with active sellers right now. The system may support 1,000 methods, but your region may only have 3 active ones.

Completion standard: You find at least 2-3 payment methods that are convenient for you, and you can see active orders for them.

Risk warning: If a seller asks you to discuss payment details outside the platform order chat, or asks you to transfer money privately outside the platform, stop the trade immediately. This is one of the most common P2P scams. Once you leave platform protection, your money may be sent, and the crypto may never arrive.

How to verify after your check

On the platform you plan to use, find a seller with a high reputation score, for example a completion rate above 95%. Click Buy and check whether the payment method you want appears in the drop-down list. You do not need to actually pay. You are only checking availability. If you cannot find even one usable payment method on a platform, the answer is clear: switch to the other one.
