If you want to confirm what OKX features you can access in your location before opening an account, the most direct official sources are OKX's Risk & Compliance Disclosure page and the restricted region list in its Terms of Service. Your region directly determines if you can use spot trading, derivatives, or P2P functions.

2 Official Entries to Find the List

Follow the steps below to check the official document and confirm the available feature scope for your location:

  1. Bottom of OKX official website → Find the "Terms of Service" or "Risk & Compliance Disclosure" link, which includes a clear "Restricted Regions" list.

  2. Bottom of new token listing announcements: If you want to check if you can trade a newly launched token, go to the official announcement page, the bottom usually attaches the full list of supported and unsupported countries/regions for that trading pair.

You have completed the confirmation once you read the official restricted region statement, and clearly know which functions are unavailable in your location.

Different Tiers of Regional Feature Restrictions

Based on official public documents and verified information, OKX applies multiple levels of access restrictions:

Full access blocked regions: The United States and its territories, Canada, Hong Kong, Iran, Syria, North Korea and other sanctioned or restricted regions. OKX has stopped all exchange services for Hong Kong users since May 2024.

Partially restricted regions:

  • Australia: Centralized exchange and derivatives services are restricted, only spot trading is mainly available.

  • Brazil: Derivatives and C2C (P2P) services are shut down.

  • United Kingdom: Retail users are restricted from accessing derivatives and P2P functions.

  • Russia: Fiat payment services are partially restricted.

  • Singapore: Users can register, deposit/withdraw and trade spot, but derivatives are not supported.

  • European Union: Affected by the MiCA regulation, usage of some unlicensed stablecoins is restricted.

Special note for mainland China users: User feedback shows that accounts registered with Chinese mainland ID usually only support RMB deposit and withdrawal, and their C2C/P2P functions are more restricted than accounts from other regions.

Risk Reminder: Do not try to bypass these restrictions with VPN. OKX's Terms of Service explicitly prohibit such behavior, and the platform uses IP detection and device fingerprint identification technology. Once detected, your account will most likely be frozen, and you may suffer fund losses. Many users also report that modifying the registered residence for mainland China accounts is a very complicated process, and you still may not get full access to all trading functions even after the modification.

Next Steps

Before registration, search your region in the OKX official Help Center first to confirm if your core required features are supported. If you see grayed out, unclickable feature options, that means the function is restricted for your location, no need to try repeatedly. Pay attention to the localized sub-sites that OKX launches for specific regions — different regional portals may have different available features, make sure you use the correct official entry.
