How to Correct Incorrect OKX KYC Information?
If you discover that the KYC information you submitted is incorrect, it can be corrected, but you cannot edit it directly on the page. You must submit a new application through the "Modify Verification" entry and upload new identification documents. The change only takes effect after it passes manual review.

Prerequisites
Before applying for a change, confirm the following three things:
Your account is in normal status—it is not frozen or subject to risk control restrictions.
You have already completed at least one round of KYC verification—unverified users cannot initiate a change request and must complete the initial verification first.
Identify the type of error—is it a name spelling mistake, an incorrect ID number, or expired documents that need updating? Different types follow the same process, but the supporting materials required may vary slightly.
Modifying identity verification is a high-privilege operation. Platform rules indicate that you are allowed 1–2 modification opportunities per year. It is recommended to ensure all materials are accurate the first time you submit them.
Step 1: Access the Modify Verification Entry
What to do: Log in to the OKX App, go to the identity verification page, and find the "Modify Verification" button.
How to do it:
Open the OKX App, tap the [User Center] icon in the top left corner of the home page → [Profile and Settings] → [Profile] → [Identity Verification].
On the Identity Verification page, tap the [Modify Verification] or [Re-verify] button.
The system will display a drop-down menu asking you to select the reason for the change. Choose according to your actual situation:
ID Expired: Documents have expired and need to be updated
Name Change: Name information is incorrect or has been legally changed
Information Error: The ID number, name, or other details filled in are incorrect
When is this step complete: You have successfully entered the "Modify Verification" process, selected the appropriate change reason, and the page has advanced to the document upload step.
Step 2: Prepare and Upload Materials Based on the Reason for Change
What to do: Follow the system prompts to upload new photos of your identification documents and any required supporting documents.
How to do it:
Case A: Incorrect document information or expired document update
Submit clear high-resolution photos of the front and back of your new documents.
Photo requirements: all four corners must be visible, no glare, no obstructions, and the text must be clearly legible. Use the original physical documents to take photos; screenshots, re-photographed images, or photocopies will not be accepted.
Case B: Name filled in incorrectly or legal name change
Upload photos of the front and back of your new identification document; the name on the document must be the correct name.
You must also upload a scanned copy of the official name change certificate issued by the public security authority (such as the page of your household registration booklet showing your information, or a household registration change certificate).
General requirements for all cases:
If the system prompts you to submit "proof of relevance," you may need to take a photo holding your new document (clearly showing your face and the document information).
Before submitting, double-check the name and document number you have entered to ensure they match the new document character for character, including spaces and punctuation.
When is this step complete: All materials have been uploaded, and the page displays "Submission Successful" or "Under Review."
Once your identity verification information is approved on OKX, it is locked and cannot be directly edited in the settings. "Modify Verification" essentially means going through the KYC verification process again; the system does not support self-service online editing of already verified fields.
Step 3: Complete Facial Recognition and Submit for Review
What to do: After submitting the materials, the system will require you to complete facial recognition (liveness detection) to confirm that you are the person performing the operation.
How to do it:
Remove any obstructions such as masks, hats, or dark-tinted glasses.
Operate indoors with sufficient lighting, align your face within the frame, and follow the prompts to complete the required actions.
After the facial recognition passes, the system will officially submit your change application, and it will enter the manual review queue.
When is this step complete: Facial recognition has passed, and the page shows "Under Review."
Step 4: Wait for Manual Review and Monitor the Result
What to do: After submission, wait for OKX's compliance team to review the application. This usually takes 1–3 business days.
How to do it:
Do not resubmit the application during the review period, as this may cause processing confusion.
The review result will be sent via in-app notification, to your registered email address, or via push notification to your linked mobile number.
If approved, your identity verification information will be updated to the latest details, and your account functions will return to normal.
If rejected, the notification will clearly state the reason for rejection (e.g., blurry materials, mismatched information, exceeded modification attempt limit, etc.). Correct the issues as indicated and resubmit your application.
When is this step complete: You receive an approval notification, the Identity Verification page shows "Verified," and both your name and document number have been updated to the correct information.
Common Reasons for Rejection
Submitted materials are blurry or information is incomplete: Document photos with glare, cropped corners, or unclear text prevent the system from recognizing them.
The newly entered name/document number does not match the original document: A single character error or an extra space will result in rejection.
Screenshots, re-photographed images, or photocopies were used: OKX requires photos of the original documents; non-original images will be judged as invalid materials on the spot.
Name change submitted without an official supporting document: If you modify your name but do not provide a change certificate from the public security authority, the review will not pass.
The limit of modification attempts has been exceeded: The platform limits the number of times identity information can be modified (usually 1–2 times per year). You cannot submit another request once this limit is exceeded.

Risk Reminders
Do not modify through unofficial channels: OKX has never authorized any third party to provide identity verification modification services. All claims of "internal channels" or "guaranteed approval for a fee" are scams that may lead to account theft or permanent freezing.
Submitting false materials will lead to a permanent ban: Forging documents or change certificates is a serious violation. Once discovered, OKX has the right to permanently freeze the account and report it to regulatory authorities.
Changing the identity subject is nearly impossible: An account verified under user A's identity cannot be directly changed to user B's identity information—this involves the legal determination of account ownership. If a change of identity subject is truly necessary, the only option is to consider closing the existing account and registering a new one, but frequent registrations may trigger risk control measures.
Next Steps: Log in to the OKX App, go to the [Identity Verification] page. If you see a "Modify Verification" button, initiate the application by following the steps above—upload clear photos of your documents, select the correct reason for the change, and complete the facial recognition. After submission, pay attention to in-app notifications and your email; the review usually takes 1–3 business days. Once you receive the approval notice, double-check that the name and document number displayed on the page have been corrected. You can use the referral code 24U2795 when registering.
