What to Do If Your OKX KYC Name Doesn‘t Match Your ID?
If your name does not match your ID, you cannot correct it directly on the page. You can only go through OKX's "Modify Verification" process, resubmit the correct ID and materials, and have your information updated after manual review. If the system determines that this is a "change of verified person," the restriction cannot be lifted.

Step 1: Identify the specific mismatch
What to do: Log into your account, go to the identity verification page, and check the differences between the name displayed and your ID.
How to do it:
Open the OKX app, tap the [User Center] icon in the top left corner of the home page → [Profile and Settings] → [Profile] → [Identity Verification].
Compare the displayed "Legal Name" character by character with the original ID. Common types of mismatches include:
Spelling errors in the name (pinyin capitalization, spaces)
Name order reversed (surname and given name filled in the wrong fields)
Using simplified Chinese while the ID shows traditional Chinese (or vice versa)
The submitted name is completely unrelated to the ID
When you are done: You clearly know which characters differ between the incorrect name on the page and the correct name on your ID.
Step 2: Enter the Modify Verification process based on the reason
What to do: Find the "Modify Verification" entry on the identity verification page and select the correct reason for the change.
How to do it:
On the identity verification page, tap the [Modify Verification] or [Re-verify] button.
Choose the reason for the change from the drop-down menu. Since the names do not match, it is recommended to select "Name Change" or "Information Error", rather than "ID Expired".
The system will ask you to upload high-resolution photos of the front and back of the new ID. Make sure the ID photos have all four corners visible, no glare, no obstructions, and legible text.
If the name was entered incorrectly (not an actual legal name change), fill in the correct name information, ensuring it matches the original ID character by character (including capitalization and spaces).
When you are done: The modification application has been successfully submitted and the page shows "Under Review".
Important reminder: The platform rules explicitly state that changing identity authentication information (changing the verified person / changing the ID) is not supported. If an account is restricted for this reason, the restriction cannot be lifted. This means you can only correct "entry errors" and cannot replace person A's identity information with person B's.
Step 3: Contact customer support if there is no modification entry
What to do: If there is no "Modify Verification" button on the identity verification page, you need to go through customer support channels.
How to do it:
Open the OKX app and go to [Help Center] → [Contact Support] (OK Assistant).
Describe "name and ID do not match, need to correct", and follow the support agent's instructions to submit materials.
You typically need to provide: Account ID, front and back photos of the correct ID, and a photo of you holding the ID (if required).
When you are done: Customer support has accepted your issue, or you have entered the update process via a reset link.
Common reasons for rejection
Wrong modification reason selected: For a name mismatch, you should choose "Name Change" or "Information Error". Choosing "ID Expired" will lead to rejection because the reason does not match.
Submitted materials do not meet requirements: Blurry ID photos, glare, incomplete corners, or using a scan/ screenshot instead of the original will all cause the system to deem it invalid.
Submitted correct name still doesn't match the new ID: The correct name you entered still has discrepancies with the original ID (an extra space, capitalization error), so the system comparison fails.

Risk reminders
Do not try to use someone else's ID to make a correction under a false name. OKX's facial recognition and ID comparison will verify authenticity. Once identity fraud is discovered, the account will be frozen.
If you submit false materials or forge name change proofs, OKX reserves the right to permanently freeze the account and report it to regulatory authorities.
After submitting the modification application, the account may enter a review state during which some features are restricted. The review is usually completed within 1–3 business days.
Next steps: Log into the OKX App and go to the [Identity Verification] page. If you see the "Modify Verification" button, select "Name Change" or "Information Error" as the reason, upload the correct ID photos, complete facial recognition, and submit. If you cannot find the entry, send "name and ID do not match, need to correct" through the online customer support and submit materials as required. After submitting, pay attention to in-app notifications and your email; the review typically takes 1–3 business days.
