When support tells you to "wait for risk control review," the worst thing you can do is just sit and wait. There is still plenty you can do during the waiting period. The right approach is to use this time to organize your materials and check for account risks, instead of scrolling on your phone waiting for a notification.

Step 1: First understand which type of "risk control" you are facing
The waiting time and how your case is handled depend on why your account was locked. Match your situation to one of the following cases.
Case A: Automatic security lock (automatically lifted within 24-48 hours)After changing your password, logging in from a new device, or adding a new withdrawal address or payment method, the system automatically triggers a security observation period. The page usually shows a countdown. This type does not require you to submit any materials. Just wait for the time to pass and access will be restored automatically.
Case B: Request for Information (RFI) or Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)The account is being reviewed by a manual risk control team because of suspicious activity, large amounts of funds, or interaction with high-risk addresses. In this case, the platform needs you to cooperate and provide materials before the review can move forward.
Case C: Freeze by law enforcement agencies The account has received a freeze order from a judicial authority and is under investigation. In this case, support cannot directly unfreeze the account. You need to cooperate with the law enforcement investigation.
Completion standard: You can tell whether you are in the "wait for automatic unlock" situation or the "need to submit materials" situation.
Step 2: Prepare all materials in one go while the case is still fresh
If you are in the "need to submit materials" situation (Case B), do not wait for support to ask you for missing documents. That will reset your queue position. Prepare the following things in advance, so that once you receive a notice, you can submit everything completely at once.
Proof of source of funds (SOF): salary records, bank transfer records, or withdrawal screenshots from other platforms, to prove that the money was legally earned by you.
Video holding your ID: Binance may ask you to record a video statement. You need to hold your ID document, face the camera, clearly state today's date, your registered email, the coin and amount you want to withdraw, and declare that "this is my own operation and the source of funds is legal." If you cannot speak English, you can write the statement on paper and read it to the camera.
Account information: Remember the IP address and device information used when you registered the account. Support may use these to verify your identity.
Step 3: Check your operating environment and remove any hidden risks
While waiting, actively look for possible "landmines" in your account to avoid triggering risk control again after the review is passed:
Check API keys: Go to the API Management page and delete all API keys that you do not recognize or have not used for a long time. Attackers may use APIs to bypass login verification and keep withdrawing funds.
Reset 2FA: If you suspect your phone or email has been compromised, reset Google Authenticator immediately.
Keep KYC information up to date: Check whether your identity verification documents have expired, to avoid restricted functions caused by expired documents.

Step 4: Recognize scams and protect your remaining assets
The risk control period is a high-risk time for scams. Remember these iron rules:
Binance does not have any phone support: anyone who calls you claiming to handle your account issue is a scammer.
Refuse "paid fast unfreezing": any "agent" who claims that private payment can speed up the unfreezing process is a scam.
Refuse screen sharing: do not share your phone screen or computer screen with anyone.
Risk reminder: An RFI (Request for Information) does not mean you did something wrong. Your account will only be restricted if you do not reply for a long time. However, if high-risk address fund flows are involved, the risk control period may last up to 60 days.
How to verify completion:Confirm that you have submitted all required materials according to the page instructions. If it is an automatic lock, the page will show the remaining time. If it has been more than 48 hours (Case B) and you still have not received a reply, submit a ticket through the Help Center in the Binance App and reference your previous ticket number.
