Step 1: First confirm what type of restriction the "risk control" is
Different trigger reasons require different handling methods. First, figure out which situation applies to you.
Situation A: Automatic security lock (auto-removed within 24–48 hours)
After changing your password, logging in from a new device, or adding a new withdrawal address, the system triggers a security observation period, and the page will show a countdown. This type does not require you to submit any documents. Just wait for the time to run out and it will recover automatically.
Situation B: Risk control review (requires submitting documents)
The account is involved in large fund movements, interacted with abnormal addresses, or triggered anti-money laundering risk control policies. The system will ask you to provide proof of source of funds, a video of you holding your ID, and other materials. This type requires proactive submission, otherwise the review will not move forward.
Situation C: Freeze by law enforcement agencies
Account restriction caused by a judicial freeze order. In this case, customer service cannot directly operate and can only cooperate with the investigation.
Completion standard: You can determine whether you are in the "wait for automatic unlock" category or the "need to submit documents" category.
Step 2: Use the waiting period to prepare all documents in one go
If you are in the "need to submit documents" situation, do not wait for customer service to ask you for supplements. Every time you supplement, your position in the queue moves back. Prepare complete documents in advance, and submit them all at once after receiving the notice.
1. Terminate abnormal active sessions
Open the Binance App, tap the avatar icon in the top right corner → [Security Center] → [Active Sessions], check whether there are any unfamiliar devices or unknown IPs in the list, and if so, tap "Terminate" immediately.
2. Clean up API keys
Go to the [API Management] page and delete all API keys you do not recognize or have not used for a long time. Attackers may use APIs to bypass login and continue operating.
3. Prepare a video of you holding your ID
Record the video according to Binance's official requirements: hold your ID document, face the camera, clearly state the date, your registered email, the type of operation you are requesting recovery for, and declare "This is my own operation and the funds come from legal sources."
4. Prepare proof of source of funds
Bank statements, withdrawal screenshots from other platforms, on-chain transaction hash records—prove the legal source of the funds.
5. Force enable Google Authenticator
Enable it in [Security Center] → [Two-Factor Authentication] → [Google Authenticator], and disable SMS verification.

Step 3: Identify scams and protect your remaining assets
The risk control period is a high-risk time for scams. Remember three iron rules:
Binance has no phone customer service: Anyone who calls claiming to be "Binance customer service handling risk control" is a scammer.
Refuse paid unfreezing: Any "agent" who claims that paying a fee can speed up unfreezing is a scam.
Refuse screen sharing: Do not share your phone or computer screen with anyone.
How to verify that the operation is complete:
Confirm that you have submitted all materials according to the page prompts or customer service requirements. If it is an automatic lock, the page will show the remaining time. If more than 48 hours have passed without a reply, follow up by submitting a ticket through the Binance App [Help Center] and attach your previous ticket number.
