bStocks can be used as margin collateral, but there are clear eligibility thresholds and asset scope restrictions. The core conclusion is: only VIP 3 and above users, in approved jurisdictions, can use bStocks as margin collateral for Cross Margin, Unified Account Mode, and Unified Account Pro. If you do not meet the VIP level requirement, or if your region is restricted, this feature is not available to you.

Eligibility and Scope
bStocks as collateral are not open to all users. Binance's official FAQ clearly states that due to regulatory requirements, this feature is currently only available to eligible VIP 3 and above users in approved jurisdictions. Users in restricted regions cannot use it. This means there are two limitations: first, your account level must reach VIP 3; second, your geographic region must be on Binance's allowed list.
If your VIP level drops below VIP 3, your eligibility ends immediately. However, Binance's rule is: existing bStocks collateral holdings will not be affected, but your account's margin trading function will be temporarily suspended until you close existing positions through the close position function.
Which Margin Products Are Supported
The margin products currently supported by bStocks are relatively clear: Cross Margin, Unified Account Mode, and Unified Account Pro. In July 2026, Binance added 15 bStocks as eligible collateral assets, including tokenized stocks such as Circle, Micron, NVIDIA, Tesla, and SpaceX. Later, at the end of July, another 10 bStocks were added, covering targets such as Apple, Amazon, PayPal, and Goldman Sachs.
It is important to note that bStocks can only be used as collateral and do not support borrowing. You cannot borrow bStocks tokens; they can only serve as margin to support your leveraged positions.
Discounts and Risk Control
Regarding "discounts," the Binance official FAQ states that collateral ratios may vary for different bStocks tokens and will be adjusted at any time based on market conditions. The official documentation does not provide a unified fixed discount ratio. Actual parameters need to be checked on the Binance margin data page for the latest information.
In September 2026, Binance expanded bStocks collateral eligibility to all Cross Margin and Portfolio Margin accounts, while introducing additional risk control measures for regular, VIP 1, and VIP 2 accounts. These risk control measures include: restricting additional bStocks transfers into accounts, restricting the purchase or borrowing of medium-liquidity and low-liquidity assets, limiting new futures positions for Portfolio Margin accounts (but allowing reduce-only), and suspending automatic margin calls for bStocks and medium- and low-liquidity assets.
Binance explicitly recommends that users keep "medium liquidity" and "low liquidity" exposure at moderate levels and hold sufficient "high liquidity" assets. VIP 3 and above users are not affected by these specific risk controls.
Liquidation and Risk
When using bStocks as collateral, the Margin Level or Unified Maintenance Margin Ratio (uniMMR) is the core indicator for judging account safety. Binance recommends that users regularly monitor these indicators to keep their accounts in good standing.
Risks mainly come from three aspects: market volatility risk—a drop in bStocks prices will directly reduce your collateral value; collateral ratio adjustment risk—Binance can adjust collateral ratios at any time based on market conditions, meaning even if prices remain unchanged, your effective margin may decrease; margin monitoring risk—if leveraged positions incur losses, it may trigger a margin call or liquidation process.
There is another noteworthy boundary: the collateral index price calculation method for bStocks is related to US stock market trading hours. During US stock market closures, the price discovery mechanism for bStocks differs from regular hours, which may affect collateral value calculations in extreme market conditions. When Binance allowed bStocks to be used as futures margin collateral in Multi-Assets Mode in September 2026, it also reiterated that regional restrictions and risk discounts still apply.
