Transferring US stocks from a traditional broker to Binance uses the DTC (Depository Trust Company) process. It is essentially a transfer of stock positions between brokers, so you do not need to sell first and buy again. The process starts with your current broker, not by submitting a request on Binance and having stocks pulled automatically. You need to first initiate a transfer-out instruction at your current broker, then submit a transfer-in request on Binance. The information on both sides must match exactly.

Before You Start: Confirm Your Stocks Are Eligible
Only stocks and ETFs supported by Binance can be transferred in. Options, bonds, and futures are not covered. Another hard limit is that only whole shares can be transferred. Fractional shares cannot be moved through DTC.
DTC rules do not allow third-party transfers, so the account name at your current broker and your Binance account must use exactly the same legal name. Missing middle names or using abbreviations will lead to rejection. If your Binance registered name and your current broker account name are not exactly the same, prepare a government-issued ID in advance for identity verification.
Step 1: Submit a Transfer-Out Instruction at Your Current Broker
The purpose of this step is to tell your current broker where to send the stocks. Binance works with Alpaca Securities LLC to execute DTC transfers, so in your transfer-out request at the current broker, you need to fill in Alpaca's receiving information:
| Field | What to Enter |
|---|---|
| Broker Name | ALPACA SECURITIES LLC |
| DTC Clearing Number | 3021 |
| Counterparty Contact | ACAT/Transfer of Assets Dept |
| Counterparty Contact Email | |
| Account Number | Your Binance UID |
Your current broker may charge a transfer-out fee. Based on public information, the common range is about 50 to 100 US dollars, depending on your broker's policy. This fee is charged by your current broker, and Binance is not involved in pricing it.
Step 2: Get the Settlement Instructions (SSI)
The SSI is detailed information that tells the DTC network exactly where the stocks should be delivered. Your current broker or Alpaca will provide this document. You need to save it because when you submit the transfer-in request on Binance later, the stock symbol and quantity must match the SSI.
Step 3: Prepare Proof of Account Ownership
Take a screenshot from your current broker that shows your full legal name and your account number at that broker. This screenshot is used to confirm that you are the same owner of both the transfer-out and transfer-in accounts.
Step 4: Submit a Transfer-In Request on Binance
Open the Binance App and follow this path: [Funding Account] → [Stock Transfer] → [Transfer In]. Note that this feature may require you to update the App to a specific version. For example, a previous transfer campaign required updating to version 3.19.0.
After entering, follow the on-screen prompts to fill in your current broker's account information, select the stock, and enter the quantity. Each transfer-in request can include up to 50 stocks. Upload the proof of account ownership prepared in Step 3, check all information carefully, and submit.
Submitting a request does not guarantee that the transfer will succeed. All requests need to be verified and approved by both brokers. Requests with incomplete or incorrect information will be rejected.
Fees and Settlement Time
Binance currently does not charge a fee for transferring stocks in. Binance's official FAQ lists a transfer-out fee of 150 USDC per stock, which is non-refundable, but there is no corresponding fee for the transfer-in direction. In previous transfer reward campaigns, Binance also offered reimbursement for transfer-out fees.
Settlement time is not guaranteed. Binance's official FAQ gives this reference: transfer-in requests are processed in batches at 15:00 (UTC+8) on business days (Monday to Friday). From the processing date, it takes at least 14 business days to fully complete. The actual time largely depends on how fast your current broker processes the request. After submitting, you can receive status updates by email and in-app message.
Common Sticking Points
Your current broker does not have a DTC transfer option. Not all brokers support DTC transfers. If your current broker does not offer this process, you can only sell, withdraw the cash, and then buy on Binance, or first transfer to a broker that supports DTC.
The stock is not on Binance's supported list. When you submit a transfer-in request, the system will ask you to select the stock. If a stock you hold is not on the list, it cannot be transferred in. Before transferring, you can check the availability of the asset on Binance's stock page.
Name mismatch. This is the most common reason for rejection. If your Binance registered name and your current broker account name are different, contact your current broker in advance to see if the account name can be changed, or submit identity documents on Binance for verification. Do not submit the transfer request directly and wait for rejection.
Only one active transfer-in request at a time. If you have multiple stocks to transfer, you need to wait for the first one to complete before submitting the next one. You cannot submit multiple requests in parallel.
