Direct answer: If you miss the deadline, your account will be restricted to "Withdrawal Only." That means you cannot trade, deposit, or use C2C, but your assets remain safe. The restriction lasts until you submit the required documents and pass review.
What happens after the deadline?
Binance usually gives a clear submission deadline when it requests supplemental verification (called RFI, or Information Request, in the industry).
Upload the required documents before that deadline.
If you do not complete the submission on time, your account will enter a "Withdrawal Only" state. This means:
You can: log in, withdraw existing assets, and close positions.
You cannot: open new positions, deposit, use C2C trading (buying or selling), or use most platform features.
This restriction is not a permanent ban. It freezes trading features to push you to complete the compliance process. Once you submit the requested information and pass review, your account functions will return to normal.
How long is the submission deadline?
The deadline is not fixed. It depends on what type of material you are asked to provide.
| Review type | Typical submission deadline | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Proof of Address (POA) | 3–6 months | Depending on the jurisdiction, the document must be issued within 3 or 6 months. |
| Identity re-verification | Deadline in email notice | For example, users in the EEA may be asked to re-verify under new regulations and receive a clear deadline. |
| Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) | According to email notice | For example, source of funds verification will state how long you have to submit. |
Key rule: Check the notice email from Binance or the in-app pop-up. It will show the specific deadline. If no deadline is stated, submit as soon as possible — there is no fixed grace period between when the review is triggered and when the account becomes restricted.
Does a failed or rejected submission count as overdue?
Yes, and it can be more troublesome.
If your submitted documents do not meet requirements (for example, blurry image or mismatched information), the review will be rejected, and the system will restart the timer to give you another chance. But if you submit unqualified materials multiple times, or never respond during the review period, the final status will still be "overdue — Withdrawal Only."
After submitting, wait until the page shows "Under Review." If it directly shows "Verification Failed" or "Please resubmit," your submission was not accepted successfully.
Risk reminder: Even though you can withdraw after becoming overdue, the withdrawal feature itself may be subject to additional restrictions. If your identity verification information is incomplete, withdrawals may be temporarily paused, and you will need to contact customer support to restore them. So do not treat "Withdrawal Only" as a safety net. The longer you wait, the longer the unlocking process may take.
What should you do next?
Check your notices: Log in to the Binance app or website and look for pop-up alerts. Also check your registered email, including the spam folder.
Prepare according to the request: If you are asked for proof of address, use bank statements, utility bills, or government letters. Pay attention to the required time frame and format.
Submit before the deadline: Do not wait until the final day. If your materials are rejected and you need to resubmit, you may not have enough time.

How to confirm your submission is complete
After submitting, check the status in the "Identity Verification" or "Verification Center" page. If it shows "Under Review" or "Pending Review," your submission was successful. Reviews usually take 1–2 business days, but complex cases can take up to 5 business days. After approval, account restrictions will be lifted automatically, and you will receive an email and in-app notification.
