What to Do After Your First Login to OKX Upon Successful Registration?
Right after you log in for the first time following successful registration, there are 4 core tasks you need to complete: finish identity verification to unlock full trading permissions, bind security tools to protect your account, set up payment methods as needed, and get familiar with fund entry points to prepare for transfers. Follow the order below and do not skip steps arbitrarily.

1. Step 1: Check if Your Account Is Verified
Newly registered accounts are marked as "Unverified" by default, and you cannot make deposits, withdrawals, or execute any trades at this status. This step is the prerequisite for the entire onboarding process.
What to do: Confirm your identity verification status.
How to do it: Open the OKX App, tap the user center icon in the top left corner, and check the "Identity Verification" status. If it shows "Pending Verification" or "Unverified", tap to enter the verification workflow.
Completion indicator: The status shows "Verified". Individual identity verification usually takes 10-30 minutes to process. If you are requested to submit supplementary materials, check the notifications in your user center promptly.

Common failure reasons: Glare on the ID photo, incomplete corners of the ID, too dim lighting or wearing hats/eyeglasses during facial recognition. Re-taking the photo will resolve the vast majority of issues.
2. Step 2: Configure Account Security Settings (This step cannot be skipped)
Your login password is only the first line of defense. The official OKX team recommends enabling at least the following 3 security features.
Setting 1: Bind Google Authenticator (2FA) Path: User Center → Security Settings → Identity Verification App → Scan the QR code with Google Authenticator, enter the 6-digit dynamic code to finish binding. Note: A backup key string will be generated during setup, save a screenshot of it in a secure location, you will need this key to restore 2FA access when you change to a new mobile device.
Setting 2: Set a Fund Password Path: Security Settings → Fund Password Management. The fund password is required for high-risk operations including crypto withdrawal and security setting modification. Do not use the same password as your login password. We recommend setting a password of 8 characters or longer, and avoid consecutive or repeated numbers.
Setting 3: Create an Anti-Phishing Code Path: Security Settings → Anti-Phishing Code. Create a unique phrase that only you know. All official emails sent by OKX afterwards will include this phrase. If you receive an email claiming to be from OKX without this phrase, treat it as a phishing email immediately.
Completion indicator: All 3 settings are enabled, and you can see the "Enabled" or "Bound" status on the Security Settings page.
Risk Reminder: After you modify or reset your login password, your account will trigger a 24-hour withdrawal restriction. This is a platform security protection mechanism, not a system fault. Therefore, arrange your fund withdrawal needs in advance before changing or resetting your password.
3. Step 3: Bind Payment Methods (For C2C Trading)
If you plan to buy crypto with fiat currency via the C2C channel, you need to bind your payment method first.
What to do: Add your payment accounts in the C2C module.
How to do it: In the OKX App, go to Homepage → Buy Crypto → C2C P2P Trading → Tap "My" at the bottom right → Payment Account Management → Tap "Add" at the top right → Select the currency and payment method (Bank card / Alipay / WeChat Pay) → Fill in the required information and submit.
Completion indicator: The payment method shows "Bound" status, and can be used normally for C2C transactions.
4. Step 4: Get Familiar With Fund Entries - Deposit and Transfer
After you finish identity verification and security settings, the next step is to get your funds into your account.
What to do: Locate the crypto deposit entry and internal fund transfer entry.
How to do it:
Deposit: App Homepage → Assets → Deposit → Select the crypto asset and corresponding network to get your unique deposit address.
Transfer: If you need to move funds between your "Funding Account" and "Trading Account", select the "Transfer" function on the "Assets" page.
Completion indicator: You can find the positions of these two entry points on the page, you do not need to actually transfer funds to complete this step.

Q: If I don't use C2C trading, do I still need to bind payment methods? No. Payment method binding is only required for C2C fiat trading. If you only use USDT on-chain deposit/withdrawal or spot trading, you can skip this step.
