What to Prepare Before Verification

What to do: Navigate to the Identity Verification page in the App and find the entry for Level 2 (Level 2).

How to do it:

  • Open the OKX App, tap [My] at the bottom right → select [Security Center].

  • In Security Center, find and tap [Identity Verification].

  • In the verification level list, tap the [Verify Now] or [Upgrade] button next to Level 2.

What indicates completion of this step: You enter the Level 2 information filling page.

2. Confirm or supplement basic identity information

What to do: Confirm the pre-filled basic information, or fill in fields that were not completed during Level 1.

How to do it:

  • Verify that your name, ID number, date of birth, nationality, etc. match your document.

  • If the system prompts you to enter a residential address, input your current residential address (must match the subsequent proof of address, if required).

What indicates completion of this step: All required information is filled in and you proceed to the document upload step.

3. Upload ID document photos

What to do: Take and upload new photos of the front and back of your ID document (the process is similar to Level 1, but it must be repeated for the secondary review).

How to do it:

  • Tap "Upload front" and take a photo of the front of the document (for mainland China Resident Identity Card, this is the national emblem side).

  • Tap "Upload back" and take a photo of the back of the document (for the ID card, the personal information side).

  • Photo requirements:

    • All four corners are fully visible, no cropping

    • No glare, no folds, no obstructions

    • Text and photo are clear and legible

4. Complete video recording or facial recognition

What to do: Complete the liveness verification as instructed. The method varies by region and App version.

Case A – Standard facial recognition:

  • Tap [Start Facial Recognition] and fit your face into the frame.

  • Follow the voice prompts to perform actions such as blinking and turning your head.

Case B – Video recording (more common for Level 2):

  • Tap [Start Video Recording] and switch to the front-facing camera.

  • Make sure your face stays within the green frame throughout. Follow the voice prompts to complete the specified actions within 3 seconds (randomly issued actions like blinking, shaking head, opening mouth).

  • In some cases, you may be asked to read aloud the digits displayed on the screen in Mandarin or English and then upload the video.

What indicates completion of this step: The system displays "Submitted successfully" or "Processing".

If the system asks you to record a video, do not pause or leave the App during recording. The backend will return an initial verification result within about 90 seconds.

5. (If prompted by the system) Submit proof of address or source of funds information

What to do: Provide supplementary materials as required by the system prompts.

How to do it:

  • If the system asks for "Proof of Address", upload a utility bill or bank statement issued within the last 3 months. The document must clearly display your name and full residential address, matching the registered information.

  • If the system asks for "Source of Funds", select an option on the page or briefly explain (e.g., salary income, investment returns).
