Step 1: Make sure the coin and network match
[What to do]: Make sure the deposit coin and network you choose on OKX are the same as the coin and network used on the platform you are withdrawing from.
[How to do it]: Open the OKX app, tap Assets, then Deposit, and choose the coin you want to deposit. For example, if you choose USDT, the page will show the supported networks, such as ERC20 (Ethereum), TRC20 (Tron), and BEP20 (BNB Chain).
Now for the most important step: the network you choose determines which chain address is generated. If you choose TRC20 on OKX, but your wallet withdraws using the ERC20 network, the funds will be sent on Ethereum while OKX is waiting for a Tron deposit. The two sides do not match, so the funds cannot be credited.
[Done when]: You can clearly say which network you selected, and you have confirmed that the withdrawal network in your wallet or exchange is exactly the same.
Step 2: Check the address itself character by character
[What to do]: Make sure the address you paste is completely correct.
[How to do it]: On the OKX deposit page, tap Copy Address, then go back to your wallet or exchange withdrawal page and paste the address there. After pasting, do not rush to the next step. Manually check the first 5 characters and the last 5 characters of the address. They must be exactly the same as what is shown on the OKX page. One extra letter or one missing number can cause the loss of your assets.

Step 3: Check whether a Tag or Memo is required
[What to do]: Confirm whether the coin you are depositing requires an extra string of numbers.
[How to do it]: Some coins, such as XRP, BNB (BEP2), and EOS, require an extra identifier called a Tag or Memo in addition to the deposit address. If you do not fill it in or fill it in incorrectly, the funds will not be credited automatically even if the address is correct. When you select these coins on the deposit page, the system will clearly remind you that this field is required.
[Done when]: If a Tag is required, you have confirmed that you copied the Tag shown on the OKX page together with the address and filled it in correctly.
Common reasons for failure: The most common mistakes beginners make are choosing the wrong network and forgetting to fill in the Tag. This is especially true for USDT. Different chains may look the same, but the addresses are completely different. Do not assume you can choose any network just because both are labeled "USDT". Also, OKX system upgrades may cause deposit addresses to change. Old addresses may still work for a short time, but it is strongly recommended to get the latest address from the app every time before you deposit.
How to verify your process: Complete a small test transfer first, confirm that it arrives, and only then transfer larger amounts. If the funds still do not arrive, contact OKX customer support and have the transaction hash (TxID) ready so they can help trace it.
