The direct answer: OKX does not just check how much money is in your wallet. It asks you to prove where the money came from. For DeFi-sourced funds, prepare three things: on-chain interaction evidence, proof of wallet ownership, and a written explanation of the funds.

I have seen people flagged by risk control because of DeFi earnings. They submitted wallet screenshots and were still rejected. The problem was that the chain of proof was broken. Below I will tell you what OKX accepts and what it does not accept.
OKX Requirements for DeFi Source of Funds
Understand what evidence the platform accepts as valid.
OKX CEO Star said in a public response in July 2025: if funds come from DeFi mining, airdrops, etc., users must honestly explain the source of income and provide wallet screenshots, private key signatures, or other supporting evidence. When taking screenshots, set the wallet name to your real name so the platform can verify it.
Specifically, OKX has clear document requirements for different DeFi source cases:
Case A: DeFi earnings (staking, mining, trading) Submit:
Wallet screenshot (named with your real name)
Private key signature verification file (generated using the EIP-191 standard supported by OKX)
Case B: Inbound on-chain transfers Provide:
A screenshot of the exchange deposit address within the last 30 days
The transaction hash (TxID) of the first inbound transfer to that address on-chain. The TxID must be publicly verifiable on Etherscan or OKLink.
After all materials are packaged, they should be verifiable transaction by transaction on Etherscan or OKLink, forming a complete fund trail.
Document Preparation Checklist (in priority order)
Prepare materials according to the standards of the OKX risk control department.
According to the appeal guide for restricted trading accounts, the source of funds explanation must show that the fund path is traceable, the behavior is reasonable, and it matches your personal asset situation.
Required materials:
Wallet screenshot: Show DeFi interaction records, and name the file as 'Your Name_Wallet Address'. The screenshot must include contract interaction time and token type.
TxID list: List all on-chain hashes and timestamps for inbound transactions in the last 30 days, and make sure they match the wallet export records.
Fund explanation: For each inbound transaction over 1 ETH or equivalent, attach a separate text description. Example format: '2026-04-28 15:22 Received Uniswap V3 ETH-USDC LP mining rewards from address 0x...aBcD'.
Supporting materials (if needed):
Private key signature verification file. The platform will provide a template text; you just sign it in your wallet.
If fiat OTC transfers are involved, provide the corresponding order screenshots with sensitive information hidden, and note the counterparty nickname and transaction time.
Package the materials as a PDF file named 'OKX_Last4AccountDigits_FundExplanation_Date' and upload it through the appeal form.
Common Reasons for Rejection
Reason 1: Screenshot has no name You did not rename the wallet screenshot to your own name, so the platform cannot confirm the wallet belongs to you. Rename the screenshot file to 'Name_Wallet Address' and submit it again.
Reason 2: TxID cannot be found The submitted TxID cannot be found on Etherscan or OKLink, or the time does not match. Check it yourself before submitting.
Reason 3: Screenshot submitted without signature For DeFi earnings, the platform requires both screenshot + signature for verification. Submitting only one will be rejected.
Risk warning: If funds come from sanctioned entities such as Tornado Cash or Garantex, OKX risk control will directly trigger account closure. In this case, no documents can fix it. Also, if you fill in 'no fixed employer' but write 'money from online loans' as the source of funds, OKX clearly says this is not supported and will close the account once discovered.
