OKX Source of Funds Documentation Repeatedly Rejected: How to Organize Your Transaction Timeline

Repeated rejection of source of funds materials usually doesn't mean the documents themselves are "wrong," but rather that the verification category you selected doesn't match the files you submitted, or the logic chain of your fund flow is broken. The platform requires more than just a screenshot—it needs a complete chain of evidence that clearly shows "where the money came from and how it reached your account."

Here are three steps to organize your fund transaction timeline and improve your approval rate.

Step 1: Confirm you selected the right verification category—this is the most common reason for rejection

OKX source of funds verification is divided into two dimensions: Source of Funds (SoF) and Source of Wealth (SoW). If you choose the wrong category, your documents will be rejected even if they are genuine.

What to do: Go to [Identity Verification] – [Additional Verification] and check which verification category you are currently applying for.

How to do it:

  • Make sure the source of funds category you selected matches the type of documents you are submitting.

    • If the funds come from salary, select "Employment Income" and submit payslips, bank statements showing "salary" entries, or an employment contract.

    • If the funds come from selling other assets (such as real estate or stocks), select "Sale of Non-Digital Assets" and submit a sale agreement or tax documents.

    • If the funds are transferred from another exchange (e.g., withdrawal from Binance to OKX), select "Transfer from Personal Other Exchange/Wallet" and submit the account statement from the originating exchange.

    • If the funds come from DeFi mining or staking rewards, select "Investment Income or Loan from Decentralized Finance Platforms" and submit wallet screenshots or on-chain transaction records.

  • If you have multiple fund sources, select the primary and most recent one used for depositing.

How to know you've done it right: You have confirmed that the verification category matches your actual situation and aligns with the type of documents you are about to submit.

Common failure reason: The funds were withdrawn from Binance to OKX, but you selected "Employment Income" and submitted payslips. The payslip only proves you "have money," it cannot prove that the specific USDT deposit into OKX originated from your salary. The connection in the fund path is broken.

Step 2: Organize a timeline based on the "fund path"—every chain must be continuous

The platform's review logic is: Every step of your money from its source to your OKX account must be documented. There must be no gaps in between and no unexplained directions of funds.

What to do: Organize a complete timeline from the fund source to your OKX account.

How to do it:

  • If the funds come from salary:

    1. Payslip/bank statement (proving the source of income)

    2. Record of depositing from the bank to an exchange (e.g., Binance)

    3. Record of buying cryptocurrency on that exchange

    4. Withdrawal record from that exchange to OKX (export the exchange account statement as a PDF showing your real name, withdrawal amount, time, and address)

  • If the funds come from another exchange (e.g., Binance):

    • Directly export that exchange's Account Statement for the last 3 months, which must show your real name, currency, amount, and timestamp.

    • You do not need to provide additional materials showing "where the money to buy these coins came from"—the exchange statement already contains the complete source of this fund.

  • If the funds come from an on-chain wallet (e.g., MetaMask):

    • Provide the on-chain transaction record of the wallet address (exported from a block explorer), showing the transaction hash, time, amount, and sending/receiving addresses of the deposit to OKX.

    • If this fund originates from DeFi interactions (such as staking or swapping), also provide corresponding interaction record screenshots.

How to know you've done it right: Your fund timeline can demonstrate that "every step from the source to OKX matches up," with no step where you can't account for how the money came in.

Step 3: Package materials according to platform requirements—format and content must be compliant

OKX has clear format requirements for supporting documents. Files that do not meet these format requirements will also be rejected.

What to do: Check file format and information completeness.

How to do it:

  • File requirements:

    • Clear and legible, all content must be fully visible. Do not crop, obscure, or blur any part.

    • Complete documents: Contracts, agreements, etc., must bear signatures, dates, and the seal of the relevant institution.

    • Amounts must be clearly visible.

    • Suggested PDF naming format: "OKX_LastFourDigitsOfAccount_FundDescription_Date".

  • If it is a statement exported from another exchange:

    • It must be in PDF format and show your full name and real identity information.

    • If a Binance statement does not show your name, you can supplement it with a screenshot of your Binance account's real-name verification.

  • If it is an on-chain screenshot:

    • When taking the screenshot, rename the wallet to your own name to make it easier for the platform to verify.

    • Ensure the screenshot includes the TxID (transaction hash), time, amount, and sending and receiving addresses.

How to know you've done it right: All materials have been prepared in the formats required by the platform and are ready to be resubmitted through the app's verification portal.

How to confirm you've done it correctly?

After submission, the system usually completes the review within 24 hours. During this time, keep an eye on the in-app notification center and your email. If rejected again, check the rejection reason:

  1. If it says "Documents do not match selection," go back to Step 1, re-select the correct verification category, and submit again.

  2. If it says "Documents are unclear or incomplete," re-scan or re-photograph them to ensure all content is fully visible, then submit again.

  3. If you are asked to provide supplementary materials (such as an additional 3-month statement), simply submit what is required. Do not just send a one-line explanation.

The vast majority of compliant users' documents will ultimately be approved. Account removal or freezing typically occurs only when funds have been associated with sanctioned addresses. If your funds are indeed clean, patiently organizing and submitting them as outlined will resolve the issue.
