OKX corporate funds cannot be used to directly "pay" a Deel payroll invoice. Deel's corporate payment channel currently only accepts Coinbase accounts or traditional bank transfers. OKX is not on its list of corporate funding sources. What you need to do is first convert the assets in OKX into a stablecoin that Deel accepts, then use a Coinbase account as a bridge to move the funds into Deel.

First, check what Deel accepts: corporate payments only support Coinbase and bank transfers
In Deel's corporate funding options (Fund Your Deel Account), the stablecoin channel is explicitly limited to Coinbase accounts. Deel's official help documentation lists payment methods including Coinbase, Mercury, Wise, ACH, SEPA, and bank wire transfers. Stablecoin payments must be made through Coinbase.
Deel's USDC corporate payment feature is also built on a partnership with Coinbase. A company needs to have a Coinbase account and send USDC from Coinbase to Deel. After Deel receives the funds, it pays contractors and employees in fiat or cryptocurrency.
OKX is not on this list. Deel's stablecoin funding documentation says to send USDC/USDT "from your crypto wallet or exchange," but in practice, corporate-level payments must go through the Coinbase channel. Individual contractors can connect a Coinbase account for withdrawals, but corporate payments must be funded through Coinbase.
Route: OKX → Coinbase → Deel
Since Deel does not accept direct payments from OKX, your process becomes a three-step chain:
Step 1: Convert your assets into USDC on OKX. Deel corporate payments currently mainly support USDC, with network options including Ethereum (ERC-20), Polygon, Base, and Solana. Convert your corporate funds into USDC on the OKX spot market and select the corresponding network.
Step 2: Withdraw USDC from OKX to Coinbase. The withdrawal limit for a standard OKX account is 10,000,000 USD per 24 hours, which is more than enough for USDC withdrawals. But you need to confirm that your Coinbase account supports receiving USDC on that network. The network you choose must match the chains supported by Deel, otherwise the funds will arrive in Coinbase but cannot be used for payment.
Step 3: Pay Deel from Coinbase. On the Deel platform, choose to pay with your Coinbase account. Funds will be transferred from Coinbase to Deel. Deel's Coinbase payment approval usually takes within 1 business day, but transaction settlement can take 1–7 business days.
Reconciliation: check status in two stages
Deel's payment status has two key milestones. When reconciling, check them separately:
Invoice Approved: Deel has received and approved your payment. This means Deel has confirmed that the funds have arrived and can proceed with paying employees and contractors. Coinbase payment approval takes within 1 business day.
Invoice Paid: The entire transaction has been settled. Deel's help documentation clearly states that even if the funds have been processed on the client side, the transaction is only considered complete after Deel actually receives the funds. This process can take 1 to 7 business days.
Your reconciliation standard: Only when you see the Invoice Paid status on the Deel platform does it mean the payroll invoice has truly been settled. If you only see "Invoice Approved," it means the funds have arrived but settlement is still in progress.
Risk points: network mismatch and withdrawal freezes
Network mismatch is the biggest operational risk. The USDC networks supported by Deel are Ethereum, Polygon, Base, and Solana. If you select Tron (TRC-20) or another chain not supported by Deel when withdrawing from OKX, the funds will arrive in Coinbase but cannot be used for Deel payment. Deel's documentation explicitly warns: "Only send the selected stablecoin on the selected network. Sending funds on the wrong network may result in delays or loss of funds."
OKX withdrawals may be frozen for security reasons. Changing your password, phone number, email, or authenticator will trigger a 24-hour withdrawal freeze. Assets purchased through P2P may have T+1, T+3, or T+7 withdrawal restrictions. If your payroll payment has a deadline, confirm in advance that your OKX account's withdrawal status is normal.
Coinbase receipt confirmation. After withdrawing from OKX to Coinbase, Coinbase requires a certain number of internal confirmations before crediting the funds. USDC on Polygon or Solana confirms quickly, while ERC-20 takes more time. Only after the funds arrive can you initiate payment on Deel.
