OKX Card vs RedotPay: Which One for Daily Spending?

If you mainly spend dollar stablecoins and live in the European Economic Area (EEA) or Brazil, OKX Card has a clearly cleaner fee structure. If you need a physical card that supports ATM withdrawals, works in more regions, and does not depend on an OKX account, RedotPay is the more practical choice.

The difference between the two is not about "which one is better." It is about where you spend, what you spend, and whether you need cash withdrawals.

Fees: OKX costs less daily, RedotPay has a higher entry cost

A third-party comparison tested a purchase of about $9.84: OKX Card charged $9.8400 in USDC with a 0% spread, while RedotPay charged $9.9384, a spread of about +1%. The gap is small for a single purchase, but for frequent daily spending, that 1% adds up into a noticeable cost.

RedotPay's $100 physical card fee is a serious entry cost to consider. If you only need online subscriptions and mobile payments, the $10 virtual card is enough to start. The $100 physical card is only worth it if you really need ATM withdrawals or in-person POS payments.

Coverage: OKX is narrow, RedotPay is wide

OKX Card currently mainly serves the EEA and Brazil. The official guidance is clear: availability depends on whether the Card entry appears in the OKX App. If there is no entry, the card is not available in your region.

RedotPay covers more than 100 countries, including North America, the UK, Europe, Southeast Asia, East Asia, Latin America, and other major regions. However, its multi-currency account service (EUR/GBP) currently mainly supports the UK and Europe. Availability in other regions depends on what is actually shown in the app.

If you are not in the EEA or Brazil, OKX Card may not work at all. You should confirm this before applying, not after getting the card.

Hidden conditions for spending rewards

OKX Card's 2%–10% rewards sound attractive, but there are two limits you need to understand first.

Only USDG spending earns rewards. If you pay with USDT or USDC, the reward is 0. This means you need to convert your stablecoins into USDG inside OKX Pay, which adds an extra step.

Rewards have a monthly cap. For regular users, the monthly reward cap is about $5. VIP 1 users get $100, and only VIP 3+ users reach $800. If you are not a high-volume OKX trader, the rewards you actually receive will be very limited.

Risk warning: both are custodial products

Both OKX Card and RedotPay keep card balances under the custody of the issuer or partner institution, not under your self-custody. This means that once you put stablecoins into a Pay account or RedotPay account, the platform holds control, and there is a potential risk of account freezing or restrictions.

In RedotPay user feedback, slow customer service and unclear KYC reviews are repeatedly mentioned. Some users report being rejected after submitting verification without explanation, and others complain about account resets and restricted access to funds. In OKX Card reviews, some users also mention the concern that "it is a custodial account, they hold everything," as well as the record of a Malta entity being fined for AML deficiencies.

This information does not mean these platforms will definitely have problems. But it shows one fact: keeping large amounts of stablecoins in these card accounts for a long time carries the same type of risk as holding assets on an exchange.

How to choose

Choose OKX Card if: you are in the EEA or Brazil, you have USDG or are willing to convert to USDG, you mainly make online purchases and use Apple Pay/Google Pay mobile payments, you do not need cash withdrawals, and you are sensitive to transaction costs.

Choose RedotPay if: you need a physical card that supports cash withdrawals, you are in a region not covered by OKX Card, or you hold multiple types of stablecoins and crypto (USDT/USDC/BTC/ETH etc.) and do not want to be locked into one exchange ecosystem.

If you are still unsure whether your region supports OKX Card, the quickest way is to open the OKX App and check whether there is a Card entry in the Pay section. If the entry is there, it is available. If not, it is unavailable. No extra research is needed.
