You are about to withdraw crypto. Yesterday the fee was 5 USDT, but today it shows 7 USDT. This does not mean Binance is suddenly raising prices. Binance is passing the blockchain network's "congestion fee" directly to you.

Withdrawal fee ≠ Binance service fee
The withdrawal fee you pay is mostly not for Binance. It is the "toll" you pay to the blockchain network.
This fee is mainly made up of two parts:
1. Network miner fee (Gas Fee, the largest part) This is the money you pay to blockchain miners or validators to include your transaction in the next block. Binance only collects this money on your behalf and keeps none of it. Network fees vary greatly between different blockchains.
2. Binance operation fee (a very small part) Binance adds a small "service fee" on top to cover the operating costs of managing wallets and processing your withdrawal request. This part is usually fixed and does not change much.
So the real reason fees go up and down is almost always the first part: how congested the blockchain itself is.
Three steps to check why your fee changed
What to do: Find the specific reason and see if there is a lower-fee option.
How to do it:
Check network congestion first: Open the withdrawal page and see which network is currently selected. If it is Ethereum (ERC20), the Gas fee can rise several times during peak periods. You can use a tool like Etherscan to check the current Gas Price. If it is above 30 Gwei, the fee will definitely not be cheap. This is the most direct reason why the fee was cheaper yesterday and more expensive today.
Compare fees across different networks: Binance offers multiple withdrawal networks for the same coin, and the fees can be very different. Take USDT as an example:
Withdrawal network Typical fee Speed Notes ERC20 (Ethereum) About 5 USDT 3-5 minutes Highest fee, can rise further when the network is congested TRC20 (Tron) 1 TRX (about 0.1 USD) 1-2 minutes Highly recommended, cheap and fast BEP20 (BSC) 0.5 USDT 1-3 minutes Cheap, but confirm the receiving wallet supports this network Completion standard: You can see the fees for different networks on the withdrawal page and choose one that is both cheap and supported.
Common failure causes and risk warnings
Choosing the wrong network can mean losing your funds: This is the worst and most common mistake. Never use a TRC20 address for an ERC20 withdrawal! Once sent, the funds are very likely lost forever and cannot be recovered. Before every withdrawal, check the "network + address" at least three times.
Fees are non-refundable: Once a transaction is initiated, the fee will not be refunded whether it succeeds or fails. If the transaction gets stuck because the Gas was set too low, you can only wait.
Fiat withdrawals have separate fees: If you withdraw fiat currency such as USD, the fee logic is different. For example, a SWIFT USD withdrawal has a fixed fee, but it can also change with policy adjustments.

Final check
Next time you see a higher withdrawal fee, open the withdrawal page and first check which network is selected. Then see if there is a cheaper alternative network such as TRC20. If ERC20 is selected, the network is probably busy. You can wait a few hours and try again during off-peak times such as weekends or early morning, and the fee will usually drop.
