Straight answer: Do not create a new account. Try "recover account" first. One email can only be used for one Binance account. If you try to register again with the same email, the system will keep blocking you with "email already exists". That path will not work.

Seeing this message usually means one of two situations. Go through the steps below to figure out which one applies to you:
Case A: You registered this account before, but forgot it or cannot log in
This is the most common case. You may have registered two or three years ago and forgot about it because you did not use it much. Or you stopped halfway at the KYC (identity verification) step, but the system already saved your email record.
In this case, you should choose "recover" instead of "register again".
Step 1: Try "Forgot password"
Go to the Binance login page, click "Forgot password", enter your email, and follow the instructions to reset your password.
If it works: Check your email → set a new password → log in and you will see your account.
If the system asks you to appeal: It means you cannot remember your login name, such as phone number or email, or your KYC is not finished yet. In this case, use the "Forgot account" appeal process.
Step 2: Use the "Forgot account" appeal process if "Forgot password" does not work
Binance has a dedicated official appeal entry.
What you need to prepare: The ID document you used when registering, preferably the one used for KYC. If you did not use an ID at that time, use the one you use most often.
Record a statement video: Hold your ID and say one sentence to the camera, for example: "Today is August 20, 2026. I forgot my Binance account for personal reasons. Please help me recover my account information."
Extra suggestion, not required but helpful: Record a video showing deposit records from another platform, such as another exchange, into this account. This can help prove the account belongs to you.

Case B: You do not remember registering, or you do not want to use this email anymore
If this message confuses you and you are sure you have never used Binance, then the email may have been registered by mistake by someone else. Or you really did register before but completely forgot.
You have two options, but pay attention to the risks:
Option 1, recommended: Register with a different email that has not been used, or use your phone number directly. This is the simplest and safest way.
Option 2, not recommended: Contact customer service and ask to close the old account. This is troublesome, and Binance has a strict KYC rule: one person can only complete identity verification once. If you close the old account linked to that email, that identity may remain occupied. When you register a new account, KYC may fail.
High-risk warning: Never try to open a second Binance account with the same ID just to test. Binance's risk control system will reject KYC because KYC can only be passed once. If that happens, you will have a new email and new password, but the system will say identity verification failed, and you will be completely stuck.
How to check after recovery: After logging in, go to the "Identity verification (KYC)" page. If you can see your verification status, such as "Verified" or "Pending review", it means you have recovered the correct account. If the page shows "Not verified", you can follow the process to complete verification.
