If your old phone number is deactivated but you can still log in to your account and at least your email or Google Authenticator (GA) is working, you can recover your account through self-service identity verification without contacting support. The core path is: in the change binding process, tap "Unable to receive verification code" to enter face recognition, then after passing, the system will unbind the old number and let you bind a new one.

Step 1: Make sure you can log in and have at least email or Google Authenticator available
Not receiving SMS on the old number doesn't mean you're locked out. The change process requires you to log in through at least one method, then you can trigger the verification steps.
Completion standard: You can enter your account password normally and log into the Binance app or website, and your email or Google Authenticator is working. If you can't even log in, you'll need the "Recover account" process, which is a different issue.
Step 2: Go to the phone number management page and trigger "Unable to receive verification code"
This is the most critical step. Don't get stuck on the page asking for the old verification code; there's a hidden entry there.
What to do:
After logging in, on the app tap the bottom-right [Me] → [Security Center] → [Phone Number]; on the website, under [Account Security] → [Phone Number] click [Manage] on the right.
Click [Change Phone Number] or the edit icon, and the system will ask to verify your identity.
The stuck point: When a pop-up asks for the verification code sent to your old phone number, do not close the page, look for and click the button [Unable to receive verification code] or [Switch to other verification method] near the input field.
Completion standard: Successfully enter the "identity verification" process, where the page prompts you to complete face recognition or submit ID documents to unbind the old number.
Step 3: Follow prompts to complete face recognition or submit KYC documents
After tapping "Unable to receive verification code," the system will guide you through an alternative verification channel, which usually requires no manual support and is automatically reviewed.
What to do:
Preferred method (fastest): The system will directly use your phone camera and ask you to complete face recognition or liveness detection. Follow the prompts to perform actions (like blinking, head turning); once the matching passes, the old phone number is unbound immediately.
Alternative method: If face recognition fails, the system will ask you to submit photos of the front and back of your ID (KYC) or a selfie holding the ID. Submit and wait for system review (usually a few minutes to a few hours).
Completion standard: The system shows "Original phone number verification removed" or "Identity verification passed," at which point you can enter a new phone number.

Step 4: Bind the new phone number
After verification passes, the page will automatically return to the binding step.
What to do:
Enter the new phone number (make sure to select the correct country code).
Tap "Get code," enter the SMS verification code received on the new number, and submit.
The new phone number is bound successfully.
Completion standard: The phone number shown in the Security Center page updates to the new number, and you receive a change success notification from the system.
High-risk warning: After changing your phone number, your account's withdrawal, internal transfer, and C2C trading functions will be suspended by the system for 24-48 hours. This is the platform's risk control protection period, during which you cannot move funds. Trading and deposit functions are unaffected and can be used normally.
Common failure reasons: Some people get stuck at the first step and can't find the "Unable to receive verification code" entry, then stubbornly enter the old code and get locked out. Remember, this entry only appears on the page where verification fails or where you are waiting for input. If you can't find it, tap "Switch verification method" or "Other verification methods."
Verification method after completion: After binding the new number, try logging in once with the new number to confirm you can receive the verification code correctly. Also check if Google Authenticator (GA) can still generate a 6-digit code. If GA is lost, take this chance while your account is still under control to quickly rebind Google Authenticator in the Security Center.
