Binance Deposit Address Unavailable? Check Network Maintenance Status First

If your deposit address is unavailable, 99% of the time it is not your account. Binance is doing wallet maintenance. Do not refresh the page repeatedly or try a different address. First, check the maintenance status of the network (not the coin).

Step 1: Check the current system status

A grayed-out deposit address or inability to generate a new address is most often caused by "the network is under system maintenance." During maintenance, deposits and withdrawals on that network are temporarily closed. Trading is not affected.

  • [What to do]: Check whether the target network (such as ETH, BSC, TRX) is in a maintenance window.

  • [How to do it]:

    1. Open the Binance website or app, find the "Announcements" entry at the bottom of the homepage, and filter by the "System Maintenance" category.

    2. Search announcements from the last 48 hours using the network name (such as Ethereum, BSC) or the coin symbol. Maintenance announcements usually state the affected network, maintenance start and end times in UTC, and what functions are limited (for example, only deposits paused, or both deposits and withdrawals paused).

    3. You can also go to your asset page and find "Deposit History"; the system usually shows a "maintenance in progress" message.

  • [Done when]: You find whether there is an active maintenance announcement for that network and confirm its start/end time.

Step 2: Decide whether it is maintenance or permanent removal

Some networks are not "temporary maintenance" but "no longer supported."

  • [What to do]: Tell the difference between "network is under maintenance" and "the network no longer supports a certain token."

  • [How to do it]: If the announcement title or content includes "stop support" or "suspension of deposits and withdrawals" and gives a specific date (for example "support will stop at 16:00 on August 21, 2026"), then it is permanent removal, not maintenance. In this case, depositing through that network may cause loss of funds. You can only use another network supported by Binance for deposits and withdrawals.

  • [Done when]: You confirm whether the current situation is "temporary maintenance" or "network is no longer supported."

Step 3: What to do in each situation

  • Situation A: Temporary maintenance

    • [What to do]: Wait for maintenance to finish.

    • [How to do it]: Maintenance usually lasts about 1 hour. For example, the ETH network maintenance announcement says "maintenance is expected to take 1 hour." You can click "Set Reminder" on the announcement page to be notified when maintenance ends. Deposit and withdrawal functions resume automatically after maintenance, and Binance does not issue another announcement.

    • [Done when]: You set a reminder or remember the recovery time and do not retry repeatedly during the maintenance.

  • Situation B: Network is no longer supported

    • [What to do]: Use a different network still supported by Binance to deposit that token.

    • [How to do it]: On the deposit page, select the coin, expand the "Network List," and check whether the network you were using is still in the list. If not, switch to a network that is in the list. Note that address prefixes must match: ERC20 starts with 0x, TRC20 starts with T, and BEP20 also starts with 0x. Do not mix them.

    • [Done when]: You have chosen another available network, generated the matching new deposit address, confirmed the address prefix matches the network, and then sent the transfer.

Common reasons for failure

  1. Checking the wrong thing: You checked "this coin" instead of "this network." If the ETH network is under maintenance, only ETH and ETH-based tokens are affected. Assets on the BSC network are not affected.

  2. Depositing too early: You saw "maintenance coming soon" and still deposited a few minutes before maintenance. If the network is congested or confirmation is slow, the transaction may arrive after maintenance starts and will be delayed.

Risk warning

During maintenance, do not deposit using that network. Binance suspends the "crediting" action during maintenance. Your transaction may already be successful on-chain, but the Binance wallet is under maintenance and will not credit your account. This is not "it will arrive a few minutes late." It means "the system is not receiving deposits right now," and it is troublesome to handle. Wait until it recovers before depositing. Do not rush to save one or two minutes.

How to verify when you are done

After confirming there is no active maintenance announcement, refresh the deposit page. If the address displays normally and the network dropdown list is selectable, the function is restored. You can send a small test transfer first, confirm it arrives, and then send the larger amount.
