Will My Assets Be Lost During Binance Deposit Network Maintenance?

No. During network maintenance, your assets will not be lost. Funds are temporarily in a state of "arrived at the on-chain address but not yet credited". Once maintenance ends and deposit/withdrawal functions resume, the system will automatically process your deposit.

Precondition: First Confirm Which Type of "Maintenance" You're Facing

Binance network maintenance falls into several categories, and the handling differs slightly:

  • Routine wallet maintenance: Regular system upgrades. Deposit/withdrawal temporarily paused, usually restored within 1 hour.

  • Network upgrade / Hard fork: Blockchain network upgrade by the project team. Binance suspends deposits/withdrawals to cooperate. Expected downtime is longer; restoration will be announced separately.

  • Permanent network discontinuation: Binance stops supporting deposits/withdrawals for a specific token on a particular network. In this case, the function will not be restored.

If it's one of the first two situations, your assets are safe and you just need to wait. For the third case, assets may need to be handled through other channels.

Step 1: Verify the Transaction Was Successful On-Chain

What to do: Check your transaction status on a blockchain explorer to confirm whether it has been confirmed on-chain.

How to do it:

  1. Find the transaction hash (TxID) from your transfer.

  2. Go to the corresponding blockchain explorer (e.g., Etherscan for Ethereum, Blockchain.com for BTC) and paste the TxID to look it up.

  3. Check the transaction status:

    • Shows "Success" or "Completed" → The transaction is confirmed on-chain; funds have arrived at Binance's wallet address, just not yet credited by the platform.

    • Shows "Pending" or "Unconfirmed" → The transaction is still queuing on-chain. Wait until it is confirmed, then check again.

When is this step done: Once the on-chain status is "Success" and the transaction has reached Binance's wallet address.

Step 2: Check the Status in Your Binance Deposit History

What to do: View the current status of this deposit in Binance's [Deposit History].

How to do it:

  1. Log in to Binance and go to [Wallet] → [Deposit History].

  2. Find this transaction and look at the status:

    • Shows "Awaiting confirmation" → The required number of on-chain confirmations has not yet been reached; keep waiting.

    • Shows "Processing" or "In progress" → Deposits are paused during network maintenance; the system will automatically credit it once maintenance ends.

    • Shows "Deposit successful" → The deposit has been credited; no further action needed.

When is this step done: When you have confirmed that the coin/network you deposited is indeed under maintenance, and the transaction status shows as "Processing".

Step 3: Set a Maintenance Alert and Wait for Automatic Crediting

What to do: Click "Set reminder" on the deposit page so you'll be notified when maintenance is finished.

How to do it:

  1. Go back to Binance's [Deposit] page and select the coin and network you used.

  2. If the page shows "System maintenance", there is usually a [Set reminder] button nearby.

  3. Click to set it up; you will receive a notification when maintenance is complete.

  4. After maintenance resumes, the system will automatically process previously suspended deposit requests and credit your account.

When is this step done: Reminder has been set and you know the funds will be credited automatically once maintenance is restored.

Common Reasons for Failure

  1. You didn't check the announcement and deposited via a network that is about to be discontinued: If Binance has clearly announced that deposits/withdrawals for a certain network will be closed soon, depositing through that network may indeed result in the assets not being credited. In this case, you need to contact customer support; the recovery success rate is uncertain.

  2. Still not credited after maintenance ends: In rare cases, there may be a delay after maintenance is restored. If the deposit hasn't arrived after more than 2 hours, contact customer support with your TxID to check.

  3. You used a network not supported by Binance: If the network isn't among Binance's deposit options, the funds may indeed be irretrievable. This is a separate issue from "under maintenance".

Risk Reminder

  • Network maintenance is a routine operation; it does not mean there is a problem with the exchange. As long as the on-chain confirmation succeeded, your money is in Binance's wallet, just not yet credited.

  • Do not initiate a second deposit. The first transaction is already confirmed on-chain; sending another won't speed it up and will only tie up more of your funds.

  • If maintenance is unexpectedly extended (e.g., during upgrades encountering issues), the waiting time may be longer than anticipated. Follow official Binance announcements for the latest status.

How to Confirm You've Taken the Right Actions

After maintenance ends, open Binance [Wallet] → [Spot Account] and check whether the balance of the corresponding coin has increased. Then go to [Deposit History] and confirm that the transaction status has changed to "Deposit successful".

If the deposit hasn't arrived more than 2 hours after maintenance is restored, prepare your TxID, contact Binance customer support, and provide screenshots along with the transaction hash.
