Who Should Use Binance Fixed Rate Loans? Calculate Your Costs First

Binance fixed rate borrowing is not defined by its interest rate, but by its minimum loan amount of 50,000 USD equivalent in stablecoins. That single requirement already excludes most regular users. It suits people who have enough collateral, need to lock in funding costs for a set period, and accept the "interest deducted upfront" rule. If your loan amount is far below that threshold, or you only need short-term liquidity for a few days, this product should not be on your list from the start.

Who can use it, and who cannot

Binance Fixed Rate Loans are designed for users who need at least 50,000 USD equivalent in stablecoin borrowing. The loan currency is mainly stablecoins, and collateral is selected from assets in your spot wallet. The minimum threshold is strict, and the page will not relax it just because your capital is smaller.

Suitable users: those who have a large stablecoin borrowing need, a fixed loan term, want to know the total interest from day one, and do not need to adjust the amount midway or repay early for an interest refund. A typical scenario is an on-platform strategy that requires funds with a certain term and cost, or using BTC/ETH as collateral to get stablecoins without selling your coins.

Unsuitable users: those borrowing less than 50,000 USD; those who need flexible borrowing and repayment; those who may repay early and expect to save part of the interest; those whose collateral is highly volatile and who do not have time to monitor LTV.

The credited amount is not the same as the amount you borrow

This is the easiest place to make a mistake with fixed rate loans. Interest is deducted at the time of disbursement, so the amount credited to your spot account is "loan amount minus upfront interest."

For example: you borrow 50,000 USDC, the annualized interest rate is assumed to be 8%, and the term is 30 days. The upfront interest is approximately 50,000 × 8% × (30/365) ≈ 328.77 USDC. The actual credited amount is about 49,671 USDC. At maturity, you need to repay 50,000 USDC, not 49,671. That extra 328 in interest was already paid at the moment of borrowing.

The direct consequence of this mechanism is that early repayment does not refund interest. Whether you repay the next day or wait until maturity, the interest payable remains the same. Therefore, this product is not suitable for the "borrow now and repay when cash is comfortable in a few days" approach. If you may repay early, flexible rate borrowing is more suitable in terms of flexibility, at the cost of an unfixed interest rate.

Another detail related to crediting: the loan currency is stablecoins, but the collateral value is calculated based on market price. Before placing an order, the page will show estimated interest and estimated credited amount. Use the actual numbers on the confirmation page, not your own mental calculation, to avoid mismatches caused by term days or interest calculation rules.

The cost of repayment and overdue

You must repay the full amount before the maturity date, and there is no partial repayment option. If you fail to repay at maturity, there is a 24-hour grace period, during which overdue fees are charged hourly at 3 times the normal interest rate. If you still have not repaid after 24 hours, your collateral will be automatically liquidated to repay the loan.

The earlier line of defense is LTV. For fixed rate loans, the initial LTV limit is 72%, the margin call line is 77%, and the forced liquidation line is 91%. That means if the collateral value drops so that the loan LTV rises to 91%, the system will immediately liquidate and charge a 2% liquidation fee on the loan amount. If you use highly volatile assets as collateral, you need to actively monitor LTV during the loan period, rather than only opening the page at maturity.

After June 2025, Binance added an option: when a fixed rate order matures, you can choose to convert it into a flexible rate loan instead of having to repay immediately. But this is not guaranteed to succeed. The official explanation is that conversion requires evaluation and confirmation. If the evaluation fails, you still need to repay on the original maturity date. The interest rate of the converted flexible loan adjusts every minute and is calculated hourly. Even if you repay within minutes after conversion, you will still be charged a full hour of interest. This feature can be used as a backup, but it should not be planned as a definite repayment arrangement.

A simple way to judge whether it fits you

Before deciding to borrow, open the Binance fixed rate loan page and look at three numbers in this order:

First, what is the minimum loan amount shown. If it currently shows 50,000 USD equivalent and your need is below that, close the page and look at flexible borrowing or VIP borrowing if you are eligible. Do not borrow more just to meet the threshold.

Second, the "estimated credited amount" shown on the confirmation page. Use that number, not the loan amount you entered, for your subsequent fund planning. If you need exactly 50,000 to execute a certain operation, borrowing 50,000 is not enough because the credited amount will be lower.

Third, see whether the term and interest rate match your purpose. The value of a fixed rate is locking in costs. If your funding period is clear and matches the available terms, it is more controllable than a flexible rate. If your funding period is uncertain, the cost of locking in is that early repayment does not refund interest, which may end up being more expensive than a flexible rate.

If you just want to borrow a small amount of stablecoins using collateral and need flexible timing, Binance flexible borrowing is a more realistic choice. Fixed rate loans solve the specific combination of "large amount + fixed term + predictable cost," not the act of "borrowing" itself.
