In this state, the wallet works like a read-only "ledger." Although you can see your asset balances and transaction history, the private key is not on the current device, so you cannot authorize any operation that requires a "signature."
What can and cannot be done in offline mode?
The core difference is whether the private key and on-chain state are involved. Here is the specific breakdown of what you can and cannot do:
Browsing assets (can do)
- View asset balances and total asset value on different chains such as BTC and ETH.
- View transaction history.
- View account addresses for receiving assets.
Trading and transferring (cannot do)
- Transfer, withdraw, or swap any cryptocurrency.
- Participate in DeFi protocols such as lending, adding liquidity, or staking.
- Buy or sell NFTs.
Managing settings (can do)
- View or change the wallet name.
- View the address QR code.
- Switch network views across multiple chains.

How to use and exit offline mode?
If you accidentally enabled offline mode in the settings, or if you want to exit this state, you can do so directly.
- How to check the current status: Open the OKX wallet homepage. If you see a gray label saying "Offline Mode" or "Read-Only Mode" at the top, it usually means you are currently offline. Your asset balance is still visible, but the transfer button will be grayed out or unclickable.
- How to restore normal mode: Usually, you can tap the "Offline Mode" label in the wallet security settings or at the top of the main screen. Select "Exit Offline Mode" or "Restore Online Status," and the system will prompt you to re-import your private key or complete identity verification. After verification is passed, all transfer and interaction functions will return to normal.
- Potential risks: During the process of exporting or importing the private key, the private key may be leaked if the device is monitored or the clipboard is read. It is recommended to disconnect from public Wi-Fi during the operation, or perform it on a device in a physically secure environment.
