You already sent the money, but the P2P order timed out and was automatically cancelled by the system. At that moment, it may feel like the money is stuck.

Don't panic. OKX P2P rules are clear: even if an order is cancelled because it timed out, you can still submit payment proof and the platform will step in. The money does not disappear, but whether you can get it back depends on how strong your evidence is.

Step 1: Find the cancelled order

[What to do] Locate the timed-out cancelled order.

[How to do it] Open OKX App → Trade → P2P → tap "Orders" at the bottom → switch to the "Cancelled" tab → find the order → tap "Need Help".

[Done when] You enter the order details page and see an "Appeal" or "Submit payment proof" option.

Step 2: Submit payment proof

[What to do] Upload evidence that proves you actually paid.

[How to do it] OKX provides a dedicated appeal channel for "I have paid but the order was cancelled":

  1. On the order details page, tap "Need Help" → select "I have paid but the order was cancelled".
  2. The system will ask you to upload payment proof. The key here is strong evidence:

Valid evidence accepted by OKX:

  • Bank app transfer success page screenshot (must include: payer name, amount, time, last four digits of the bank card number or transaction ID)
  • Screenshot of the corresponding OKX order page (showing "Paid" or the order status)
  • The timestamp must be complete, and the screenshot must include the system and counterparty account information

Most common mistakes:

  • SMS screenshots do not work — SMS can be tampered with, and the platform does not accept them
  • Partially blurred bank card numbers do not work either — reviewers need to check whether the account matches the bound information
  • Do not use Photoshop to combine multiple screenshots — the system can detect pixel differences and may treat it as fake evidence

A safer approach: Use another device to record a video. Show opening the bank app → logging in → showing the transaction record → then switching back to the OKX order page, all without cuts.

  1. After submission, the system will create a message saying "Payment proof submitted" and send it to both buyer and seller.

[Done when] The page shows "Appeal submitted" or "Payment proof uploaded", and you receive a Case ID.

Step 3: Wait for customer service

After submitting the appeal, OKX customer service will contact the seller to verify. If the seller confirms receiving the money but still does not release the crypto, the platform will handle it manually.

Usually, you will get a result within 24 hours. Complicated cases may take up to 3 days. Pay attention to your registered email and app notifications.

Risk reminder: If you wrote words related to cryptocurrency such as "BTC", "USDT", or "P2P" in the payment remark, and this caused the seller's bank account to be frozen, the seller has the right to refuse to release the crypto. The platform will contact you to arrange a refund, and the refund fee will be borne by you. Also, if more than 3 days have passed since the order was cancelled, you will no longer be able to file an appeal.

How to verify the operation is complete

After submitting the appeal, go to the "Orders" page and check the order status. If it changes to "Under appeal", it means the process has started. After customer service handles it, either the seller releases the crypto or the platform arranges a refund. If there is no update after 24 hours, go to the order details page and tap "Expedite" in the "Appeal details", or contact official online customer service to check progress.
