When does OKX require face verification?
OKX face verification, also known as the Eagle Eye system, is usually triggered in two situations:
Case A: An action you started yourself For example, if you have enabled "large withdrawal protection" and your total withdrawals within 24 hours exceed the preset threshold, the next withdrawal will trigger face verification. The minimum threshold is 10,000 USD. You may also need face verification when you increase the large withdrawal protection threshold in your security settings.
Case B: The platform risk control system triggers it automatically Even if you have not exceeded your own limit, OKX risk control, also called Eagle Eye, may independently trigger face verification if it detects unusual behavior such as logging in from a new location, using an unfamiliar device, or an abnormal withdrawal pattern. This is separate from large withdrawal protection and does not mean your settings are wrong. It is a normal security check.
High-risk warning: In 2024, hackers used AI face-swapping technology to impersonate users during the "forgot password" process, successfully resetting accounts and stealing assets. OKX later upgraded its new-generation AI face detection and added double manual review for security changes on large accounts. But this also means that if someone guides you to verify your identity outside the official app, you should be highly alert.
How to tell whether a face verification request is real
Core rule: Only verification started inside the official OKX app or official website is real.
First tip: Check where it starts A real OKX face verification always appears after you enter the official app or website and perform a specific action such as withdrawing funds or changing settings. Never click links in text messages, emails, or social media private messages to do verification.
Official OKX text messages do not contain links. Official messages are mainly identity verification and notification messages. They will not guide you to deposit, withdraw, transfer, or log in to unknown websites.

Third tip: Set an anti-phishing code Set an anti-phishing code that only you know in the OKX Security Center. All official OKX emails will include this text. If an email does not show your code, it is fake.
