Turned on the OKB deduction switch but your trading fees still have no discount? You may have hit a trap that many OKX users fall into — OKB cannot be used to deduct trading fees at all.

A leading global cryptocurrency platform, suitable for both beginners and experienced traders.
New user benefit: 20% off trading fees upon registration!!
Don't doubt it. You read that right. The OKX official Help Center clearly states a rule that many people overlook: "OKB cannot be used to deduct exchange trading fees, and OKB holdings are not used as a condition for upgrading or downgrading your fee tier."
So what is OKB actually for?
Many long-time users are used to treating OKB like a "fee card," but OKX has already integrated its benefits system. OKB no longer directly offsets trading fees. Instead, as the platform ecosystem token, it is used for staking and earning, participating in Launchpad, voting in governance, receiving airdrops, and other scenarios.
Simply put, you may hold a pile of OKB, but it cannot save you money — at least not directly on trading fees.
High-risk reminder: Don't be misled by third-party tutorials. Some tutorials still teach that "holding OKB can offset trading fees," but most of that information is outdated or inaccurate. Follow the official OKX Help Center statement — OKB does not offset trading fees.
Then how can you lower OKX fees?
Fee tier downgrades depend on two hard indicators: 30-day trading volume and total account assets. Whichever requirement you meet will automatically raise your tier, and the fee rate will drop accordingly.
OKX spot base fee rate (VIP 0):
- Taker: 0.08%
- Maker: 0.10%
Increase your trading volume or assets, and the system will automatically evaluate and upgrade your tier. No manual application is needed.
If you mainly act as a market maker, there is also a new feature: starting from September 2025, OKX supports paying spot trading fees in the quote currency. For example, if you use USDT to buy BTC, you can change the fee from "deduct BTC" to "deduct USDT." The currency used for maker rebates will also change accordingly.

Check whether your deduction switch is useless
[What to do]: Confirm the status of the OKB deduction feature in your account.
[How to do it]: Open the OKX App, go to [My] → [Settings] → [Trading Settings], and find the "Use OKB to offset trading fees" switch. Even if it is turned on, it will not affect your actual fee charges.
[Completion standard]: You have confirmed that whether this feature is on or off has no effect on your actual trading fees.
