How to Complete Security Initialization After OKX Phone Registration
After registering with a phone number, your account only has basic login access. Core trading and withdrawal features are still locked. Security initialization means completing three types of key actions: enabling two-factor authentication, completing identity verification, and setting up fund protection. Only after completing all steps in order can you use the account normally.

1. Enable Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Immediately
Goal: Bind an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, etc.) in the Security Center. This is the most critical step to protect your account.
Steps:
Open the OKX app, tap the profile icon in the top-left corner → 【Security Settings】 → 【Security Center】.
Tap 【Authenticator App】 → select 【Continue】.
Use an authenticator app on your phone to scan the QR code displayed, or enter the key manually to complete binding.
Enter the 6-digit dynamic code generated by the authenticator app, then tap 【Enable Now】 to finish.
Completion Standard: The authenticator app now shows a dynamic password for your OKX account, refreshing every 30 seconds. After binding, the system provides a set of backup recovery codes. It is recommended to write them down and keep them in a safe offline place. Do not store them on your phone. You can use them to recover access if you lose or replace your device.
Once bound, the dynamic verification code is required for key operations like login, withdrawal, and security setting changes. SMS verification codes offer much weaker protection than an authenticator app, so it is strongly recommended to prioritize the authenticator app for the second verification step.
2. Complete Identity Verification (KYC)
Goal: Submit your ID documents and complete facial recognition to unlock trading and deposit/withdrawal functions.
Steps:
On the app home screen, tap the profile icon in the top-left corner → tap your nickname/account → 【Identity Verification】 → 【Verify Now】.
Upload clear photos of the front and back of your ID card, ensuring no glare and no obstructions.
Follow the prompts to complete a liveness facial recognition check, performing dynamic actions like nodding and blinking.
Submit and wait for the review. Automatic review usually takes about 5 minutes, and no longer than 24 hours.
Completion Standard: The account status shows "Verified" or "Standard Identity Verification", and trading, deposit and withdrawal functions are officially unlocked. Accounts that have not completed KYC cannot trade, deposit or withdraw. Different verification levels correspond to different deposit and withdrawal limits.
3. Set Up Anti-Phishing Code
Goal: Create a unique string to distinguish genuine OKX official emails, helping you avoid phishing fraud risks.
Steps:
Go to 【Security Settings】 → 【Security Center】, and find the 【Anti-Phishing Code】 function entry.
Set an easy-to-remember unique string and confirm to save.
Once set successfully, all official emails from OKX will display this anti-phishing code in the email body.
Completion Standard: The anti-phishing code has been successfully set. When you receive an email claiming to be "OKX official" in the future, first check whether the email contains this unique code. Any email without the corresponding identifier is a phishing email.

4. Configure Withdrawal Address Whitelist
Goal: Restrict withdrawals so they can only flow to pre-approved addresses, preventing malicious fund transfers if the account is compromised.
Steps:
Go to 【Security Settings】 → 【Fund Security】 → 【Withdrawal Settings】.
Enable the 【Address Whitelist】 function.
Add frequently used withdrawal addresses (i.e., your personal external wallet addresses). Newly added addresses require confirmation via your linked email.
Completion Standard: The whitelist function is active, and at least one verified trusted address is on the list. Subsequent withdrawals can only be made to whitelisted addresses.
After all security initialization steps are completed, withdrawal functions will be temporarily restricted for 24 hours. This is a default platform security protection mechanism and will not have any long-term impact on your account's future use.
