To go live on Binance Square, you first need to pass the follower threshold: 1,000 Square followers will automatically unlock the permission. If you have not reached that number but have live streaming experience or a content background, you can use the application channel. There are two ways to start a stream: on mobile you can directly use the camera or a voice room, and on desktop you can use streaming software such as OBS with RTMP. Whether a replay is saved depends on whether you enabled recording before going live. Replays will not include trading cards, red packets, or real-time comments. For privacy, screen sharing cannot be changed after the stream starts. When using OBS, choosing "Window Capture" is safer than "Display Capture".

First check whether you have live streaming permission
The default rule for Binance Square live streaming permission is that it is automatically activated when your follower count reaches 1,000. You do not need to apply separately. If you have not reached that number but have live streaming experience or a content creation background, the official team provides an application form. After review, they will contact you through private message. Note that some older Chinese tutorials say "contact customer service after 5,000 followers", but that number does not match the current official English and Russian blog posts, which state 1,000. Follow the Binance official blog content updated after 2025: 1,000 is the current threshold.
The follower count only counts followers inside Binance Square. It does not count followers from your other platforms.
Desktop streaming: how to connect OBS and StreamYard
Desktop streaming is suitable for scenarios where you need to show charts, switch between multiple windows, or use a professional screen layout. The core of the process is to get two things: the live stream URL and the stream key.
After creating a live room on Square, these two values will be shown in the lower left corner of the control panel or in a pop-up window. Fill them into the "Server" and "Stream Key" fields of your streaming software. In OBS, the path is: Settings → Stream → set Service to "Custom" → enter the URL and key. In StreamYard, add "Other Platform" as a destination and paste the RTMP address and key there.
The officially recommended streaming settings are 1080p / 30fps, with a delay of about 15–30 seconds. That delay means there will be noticeable lag when interacting with viewers. Voice rooms or direct camera streaming have lower latency, but desktop streaming gives you higher video quality and more layout freedom. Choose based on your needs.
Privacy: two things you must think about before going live
Screen sharing cannot be changed once the stream starts. Whether you are using the web version or a voice room or multi-user chat room in the app, if you enable "Share Screen" before going live, you cannot turn it off after the stream starts. That means your screen content will be exposed for the entire stream. On the other hand, if you did not enable it when starting, you cannot add it midway. Make your decision clearly before clicking start.
When using OBS, choose "Window Capture" first, not "Display Capture". Window Capture only captures the specific window you select, such as a chart page in your browser. Display Capture will push out your entire screen, including notification pop-ups, other tabs, and desktop files. Imagine this scenario: you are using Display Capture to show a candlestick chart, and then a WeChat message pops up. All viewers see it. Window Capture can avoid this problem. The trade-off is that you need to prepare the content you want to show in a separate window in advance.
Also, the recording option for live replays is worth noting. If you enable "Record Live", the replay will be saved to your profile, but replays do not include trading cards, strategies, red packets, or real-time comments. If you hope to keep trading strategy cards in the replay for later viewers, that need cannot be met at the moment. A replay is only a recording of the picture and sound. Interactive elements will not be reproduced.
How to turn replays on and where to find them
When creating a live stream or entering the streaming settings, you will see a switch labeled "Record Live" or "Record Live". Turn it on before going live, and after the stream ends the replay will be linked to your account. You can find the entry in the live streaming section of the Creator Center. Ended live recordings can be accessed from there. If you did not turn on this switch before going live, there is no way to fix it afterward. Once the stream ends, it ends.
Voice rooms, also called multi-user chat rooms, also support recording and replays, but replays likewise do not include red packets or comments.
Mobile: more direct, but with feature trade-offs
The app entry is on the Square homepage. Pull down or tap the + button, then select "Live" and choose either "Multi-user Chat Room" or "Camera Live". Multi-user chat rooms are mainly voice-based and support inviting listeners to speak. Camera Live simply broadcasts directly from your phone's front camera. The convenience of mobile streaming is that you do not need a computer or streaming software, but the flexibility of screen layout, screen sharing, and adding trading components is not as good as on desktop. The mobile app itself does not support screen sharing. If you only want to do a voice interview or simple spoken market analysis, mobile is enough. If you need to show charts or operate multiple windows, go back to desktop.
An easily overlooked limitation: you can only create one scheduled live stream
You can schedule a live stream on Square in advance, but each user can only create 1 scheduled live stream in any 14-day period. This is not "one per day." It means only one is allowed within a rolling 14-day window. If you are used to scheduling multiple content sessions in advance, this limit will disrupt your rhythm. When you exceed the limit, you can only wait for the old scheduled stream to expire or simply go live without scheduling.
Pre-stream checklist
Before clicking "Start Live", go through this list in order:
Follower count: Check that your Square profile shows at least 1,000 followers. If not, use the application channel. Do not just wait.
Screen sharing decision: If you need to share your screen, enable it before going live. If not, do not enable it. It cannot be changed after the stream starts.
OBS capture source: Confirm you are using "Window Capture" rather than "Display Capture". Check that the captured window does not contain notifications or tabs that should not appear.
Replay switch: If you want a replay, turn on "Record Live". If not, leave it off. Replays will be publicly visible on your profile.
Streaming settings: Set OBS output resolution to 1080p and frame rate to 30fps. Adjust bitrate according to platform recommendations and your upload bandwidth.
After the live stream starts, check on the Square live page that the picture and sound are normal before switching back to OBS or your operating interface. If the streaming software shows "Live" but the Square page has no picture, first check whether you really clicked "Start Streaming" in OBS, then check whether the URL and key were copied completely. One extra space at the end of the key will cause failure.
