How to Redeem Courtyard Cards? OKX Payment and Final Cost

Courtyard's "redemption" means exchanging the physical card stored in the vault and having it shipped to you. OKX is not part of this process, and Courtyard does not support payment through OKX. What you actually need is USDC on the Polygon network. OKX can be used to buy USDC and withdraw it to your own wallet, but both payment and redemption are completed on Courtyard's side.

What OKX Can and Cannot Do Here

Courtyard supports payment by credit/debit card and USDC on the Polygon network. It does not integrate OKX Pay or any direct payment channel from an OKX account. OKX Pay currently only supports sending and receiving USDC, USDT, and USDG on the X Layer network, while Courtyard runs on the Polygon network, so the two do not connect.

What you can do on OKX is: buy USDC, withdraw it on the Polygon network to your own crypto wallet such as MetaMask or the OKX Web3 wallet, and then use the USDC in that wallet to pay on Courtyard. If you enter your OKX email or Pay account directly, Courtyard will not receive it.

The OKX NFT marketplace does aggregate orders from Courtyard.io, which means you can see and buy Courtyard card NFTs in the NFT section on OKX. But buying and redeeming are two separate things. For a Courtyard NFT bought on OKX, you still need to go back to Courtyard.io and use its official redemption process.

Specific Steps for Redemption

When you hold a Courtyard card NFT and decide you want the physical card:

  1. Find your card on Courtyard.io. On the collection page, a Redeem button will appear next to each card you own.
  2. Submit the redemption request. After clicking Redeem, you enter the official redemption process. KYC identity verification is required at this point.
  3. Pay shipping and taxes. After submitting the request, the system will ask you to pay shipping. US users also need to pay sales tax, and users in other regions may face customs and import duties.
  4. Wait for delivery. Shipping within the United States usually takes about 10 business days. International delivery time depends on the destination and customs process. Courtyard will provide tracking information.

After redemption, your NFT will be destroyed. You cannot hold both the physical card and the digital card. Once you choose redemption, the corresponding NFT will be burned.

What Are the Final Costs

Besides the price you paid when buying the card, redemption involves extra fees:

Shipping. Paid by the person redeeming, calculated based on the distance between your address and the vault. Shipping costs within the US and internationally can differ significantly.

Possible processing fee. During peak demand, Courtyard may charge a $2 processing fee per card. This is not a fixed fee and appears when redemption volume is high.

Taxes. US users pay sales tax based on the tax rate of the shipping address zip code, and the tax base is the USD value of the card's most recent sale price. Non-US users need to pay customs duties and import taxes according to local laws. The specific amount depends on the customs policy of your country or region.

What you need to consider: if the card itself is not very valuable, shipping plus taxes may make up a large share of the final cost. Before redeeming, check the shipping cost and estimated taxes first, then decide whether the card is worth redeeming.

Supported Countries and Regions

Courtyard claims to ship to most countries worldwide, but there are exceptions due to legal or logistics restrictions. If you are not sure whether your country is within the shipping range, contact Courtyard to confirm before redeeming.

Easy Points of Confusion

"Redemption" is not "withdrawing the card from OKX." A Courtyard NFT on OKX is only an on-chain certificate. The physical card is always stored in Courtyard's vault at Brink's. To get the physical card, you must go through the redemption process on Courtyard.io, not OKX's withdrawal function.

Also, do not assume that a card bought on OKX can be redeemed directly on OKX. OKX aggregates order display and trading entry, but the redemption right is on Courtyard's side, not OKX's side.
