Holding USDe in your Binance account does earn rewards. The rules are simple: hold at least 0.01 USDe for 24 hours and daily interest starts accruing. Rewards are paid to your spot account every Monday. But there are two easy-to-miss limits: rewards only count balances inside your Binance account, so moving USDe to a self-custody wallet stops them. Also, the APR is set by Binance alone, updated weekly, with no promise of a fixed rate.

How rewards are calculated and when they are paid
Rewards are calculated based on the lowest daily snapshot of your USDe balance, not the average. Binance takes multiple random snapshots of your balance each day and uses the lowest value of that day as the basis for interest.
The formula is: Daily reward = lowest daily balance snapshot × APR ÷ 365.
Rewards are paid every Monday, credited directly to your spot account in USDe. If you use a sub-account, rewards go to the spot account linked to that sub-account, without affecting your main account statistics.
Eligibility: which accounts count and which places do not
USDe rewards cover balances in spot, funding, margin, and futures accounts. USDe in both main accounts and sub-accounts counts. This means you do not need to move USDe to a specific account; it earns interest wherever it is held.
But there is one hard rule: USDe must stay inside the Binance platform. If you withdraw USDe to your own on-chain wallet (non-custodial), rewards stop immediately.
Geographic restrictions need special attention. Under Binance's USDe terms, the EU and European Economic Area, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Hong Kong, the United States and its territories, and other regions are excluded from USDe reward eligibility. This list may change, so rely on the actual notices or page prompts you see in your account.
Exit: no lock-up period, but timing matters for stopping interest
USDe rewards have no lock-up period. You can sell or transfer out at any time. You do not need to wait for a maturity date like with fixed-term products.
However, the rule for when interest stops is worth noting: rewards accrue up to the day before you sell or transfer out your USDe. So if you sell USDe on Wednesday, Wednesday's rewards will not accrue.
Rewards are paid weekly, so if you sell USDe before the Monday payout, any previously accrued but unpaid rewards will not be lost. They will be paid as usual on the next Monday to your spot account. You can check daily accrual records in the Rewards History section on the USDe page.
This is not the same as Binance Wallet "Hold to Earn"
Binance also has a feature called "Hold to Earn" that supports USDe, but the entry point and mechanism are completely different.
Hold to Earn is inside the Binance Wallet. It requires manual activation, rewards are calculated daily and claimed weekly (after 08:00 every Tuesday), and you need to pay network gas fees when claiming. The USDe rewards discussed in this article are automatic interest at the account level. No activation is needed, no manual claim is required, and rewards are automatically credited to your spot account.
If your USDe is in your Binance exchange account (spot, funding, etc.), the account-level USDe rewards apply automatically. If you put USDe in the Binance non-custodial wallet, the Hold to Earn rules apply instead.
Reward source and risks
USDe yield comes from a promotional partnership between Binance and Ethena, the issuer of USDe. The APR is set unilaterally by Binance based on market conditions and product sustainability, and is updated weekly. This means the APR is not fixed and is not generated automatically by an on-chain mechanism. It can change at any time.
USDe itself is a synthetic dollar asset issued by Ethena. Binance's official FAQ clearly warns that holding USDe involves market volatility risk, liquidity fluctuation risk, and the risk that USDe may fall below its reference value. Price stability is not guaranteed, and fixed or guaranteed returns are not promised.
