Sub-accounts are not generated automatically. The main account holder must log in and manually create them on the "Sub-account" page. Once created, the main account can individually set trading permissions, API permissions, and fund management rules for each sub-account.

1. Confirm Your Eligibility to Create a Sub-Account

What to do: Check whether your main account meets the prerequisites for creating a sub-account.

How to do it:

  • Make sure your main account has completed identity verification (KYC).

  • Make sure two-factor authentication (2FA) is enabled – including Google Authenticator and SMS/email verification.

  • A single main account can create up to 5 sub-accounts.

When is it done: You have confirmed that your main account meets the above conditions and you can proceed to the creation process.

If you have not yet enabled 2FA, complete the binding in the "Security Center" first. 2FA verification is required throughout the sub-account creation process.

2. Go to the Sub-Account Creation Page

What to do: Find the sub-account management entry on the Binance website.

How to do it:

  • Log in to the official Binance website and click on your profile avatar in the top-right corner.

  • Select "Sub-account" from the dropdown menu.

  • After entering the sub-account management page, click the "Create Sub-account" button.

When is it done: The "Create Sub-account" form appears on the page and you can start entering information.

Prerequisite: Sub-accounts can only be created on the web version. The mobile app can be used to log in and operate a sub-account, but the creation operation must be done on the web version.

Common reasons for failure:

  • Cannot find the "Sub-account" entry – check whether you are using the correct official Binance domain; the entry location may slightly differ depending on regional versions.

3. Fill in the Sub-Account Registration Information

What to do: Enter a new email address that has never been registered with Binance as the sub-account's login credential.

How to do it:

  • Case A: Use a real email Enter a valid email address that has never been registered with Binance, then set a login password for the sub-account.

  • Case B: Use a virtual email (developer scenario) If the sub-account is only used for API trading, the system can automatically generate a virtual email for you (format such as This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.), without the need to provide a real email address.

When is it done: The email and password have been filled in, and you proceed to the next step for identity verification.

Common reasons for failure:

  • The entered email address has already been registered with Binance – the system will prompt "This email has already been registered". You need to use a different, unused email.

It is recommended to use a separate email for the sub-account for easier management and account recovery.

4. Complete Two-Factor Verification to Submit the Creation

What to do: Enter the email verification code, SMS verification code, and Google Authenticator (2FA) code linked to your main account in sequence to confirm your identity.

How to do it:

  • The system will ask you to enter three verification codes in order:

    1. Email verification code (sent to the main account's linked email)

    2. SMS verification code (sent to the main account's linked mobile number)

    3. Google Authenticator dynamic code (6 digits)

When is it done: The creation is successful and the page displays the sub-account's UID and email information.

Common reasons for failure:

  • The Google Authenticator dynamic code has expired (refreshes every 30 seconds) – get the latest code and try again.

  • Cannot receive the SMS verification code – check your mobile signal or confirm whether your mobile number supports international SMS.

If any verification step fails, the creation process will be terminated and no sub-account will be generated.

5. Configure Sub-Account Permissions (Optional but Recommended)

What to do: After creation, set the sub-account permissions according to your usage scenario.

How to do it:

  • API Management: Go to "Sub-account" → "API Management" to create the sub-account's API key and set IP whitelist restrictions (only allow specific IP addresses to access).

  • Trading Pair Whitelist: You can restrict the sub-account to trade only designated trading pairs (spot/margin). Each API supports a maximum of 30 trading pairs.

  • Enable Options: Grant options trading permission to the sub-account via API.

  • Account Freeze/Deletion: The main account can disable or delete a sub-account at any time.

When is it done: Relevant permissions are configured according to your purpose of use.

Next step: After the sub-account is successfully created, the UID and email will be displayed on the "Sub-account" page. If you are creating it for family use, note that Binance's "Binance Junior" sub-account feature is specifically designed for users aged 6–17, offering limited trading and Earn functions; you can learn about it separately. For withdrawals or transfers, fund operations of a sub-account need to be authorized by the main account or transferred directly by the main account.
