To transfer funds from the main account to a sub-account, just use the "Wallet" section on the Binance website. No complex API calls are needed. The main account must have sufficient funds before the transfer; the sub-account will receive the assets instantly with no delay.

Step 1: Log in to the main account and go to the transfer page

Log in to the Binance main account on the website or app. On the web, click [Wallet] – [Transfer]. In the app, go to [Wallets] – [Spot], and find the [Transfer] entry at the top of the page.

When you have completed this step: You should see the transfer page with "From/To" account selection boxes.

Step 2: Select the transfer direction

On the transfer page:

  • In the "From" dropdown, select the main account's wallet type (Spot, Futures, etc.)
  • In the "To" dropdown, select the target sub-account

The Binance sub-account management page clearly shows that assets can be transferred between the main account and sub-accounts, and the process is the same as internal transfers within the main account.

When you have completed this step: You have chosen the transfer source and the target sub-account.

Step 3: Choose the coin and amount

Select the cryptocurrency to transfer and enter the amount. Double-check the amount, then click [Submit]. Even advanced transfer interfaces require the asset and amount to be clearly specified, as indicated in the Binance API documentation.

When you have completed this step: The transfer request has been submitted and the system confirms success.

Step 4: Confirm receipt

After the transfer is completed, the sub-account will instantly receive the assets in the corresponding wallet type. You can verify by logging into the sub-account or through the main account's [Sub-accounts] – [Asset Management] page.

If the custom login feature for sub-accounts is enabled, accounts with the "Finance Manager" role can directly enter the asset transfer page and perform transfers with the same effect as the main account.

Prerequisites and Common Issues

Before transferring, make sure:

  • The corresponding wallet type in the main account has sufficient available balance
  • If using the API, the main account's API Key must have the "Enable Universal Transfers" permission
  • The sub-account requires no additional setup and can use the assets as soon as they are received

If a transfer fails:

  • Check whether the main account's relevant wallet type has enough balance
  • Confirm that the sub-account is in normal status (not frozen)
  • If using the API, verify that the permissions are properly configured
