Where to Supplement Personal Information for a New Binance Account?
Supplementing personal information and completing identity verification (KYC) are two related but distinct operations. "Personal Information" refers to the basic account details, while "Identity Verification" is the submission of documents to unlock features. The unified entry point for supplementing information is in the "Profile" or "Account" settings.

1. Access the Profile Page
What to do: Locate the profile entry to view and fill in your information.
How to do it:
- Log in to the Binance app or website.
- App: Tap the profile icon in the top-left corner or the "Account" icon in the bottom-right, then go to "Profile" or "Account Center".
- Web: Hover over the profile icon in the top-right corner and select "Account" or "Profile" from the dropdown menu.
When is it done: You have entered the profile page where you can see options such as "Identity Verification", "Security Settings", and "Personal Information".
If you have never completed identity verification, you may see a pop-up prompting you to "Verify Now" after logging in. Clicking it will also take you to the relevant profile flow.
2. Supplement or Update Personal Information
What to do: Fill in or modify basic details like name, date of birth, residential address, etc. on the profile page.
How to do it:
- Case A: KYC not yet completed – Click the "Identity Verification" or "Verify" button, then follow the prompts to enter your name, date of birth, nationality, residential address, etc., and submit ID document photos and complete the liveness check.
- Case B: KYC completed, only non-critical changes – On the "Profile" page, you can change your nickname, avatar, bio, etc. Note: the username cannot be changed once set; the nickname and avatar can only be changed once every 30 days.
When is it done: The required information has been filled in or updated, and the page shows "Submitted" or "Under Review".
Prerequisites: For identity verification, you need a valid government-issued ID document (passport, driver's license, or national ID card).
Common failure reasons:
- Information entered does not match the ID document – the system will prompt "Information mismatch"; recheck and submit again.
- ID photo is blurry, has reflections, or is incomplete – take a clear photo showing all four corners of the document.

3. Confirm the Operation is Complete
What to do: Check whether the supplemented information has taken effect or if the KYC review has passed.
How to do it:
- Personal information modifications: On the "Profile" page, check that the filled-in fields are displayed correctly.
- Identity verification: After submission, wait for review, which can take from a few minutes to a few days. The result will be sent via email, or you can check the status on the "Identity Verification" page.
When is it done: Personal information is displayed correctly, or the KYC status shows "Verified".
Common failure reasons:
- Liveness check failed – low light, wearing a hat/sunglasses, movement too subtle; remove any obstructions and ensure adequate lighting before retrying.
- After multiple failures, the system requires a 24-hour wait before another attempt.
Risk reminders:
- Once identity verification information is confirmed and submitted, it cannot be changed arbitrarily. To modify, contact customer support for re-verification.
- An account that has not completed KYC has limited permissions: you can only view market data, but cannot deposit, trade, or withdraw.
Next steps: Log in to your Binance account and check the completeness of your information on the "Profile" page. If you haven't completed identity verification yet, it is recommended to finish KYC as soon as possible – this is a necessary step to unlock full trading features. After verification, you can enable Google Authenticator (2FA) in "Security Settings" to add a second layer of protection to your account.
