You cannot safely manage funds for multiple people directly through one personal account. However, Binance offers three official solutions for shared or divided control, depending on your situation.

If you only completed basic personal verification (KYC), there is only one owner in the system. There is no built-in permission tier. Account password, fund transfers, and withdrawals are all controlled by one person. Sharing one account is very risky. Binance risk control can detect multiple devices and IPs logging in at the same time. At best, you will face frequent verification. At worst, the account may be frozen directly.

Option 1: Sub-Accounts – For professional traders or small teams

Think of sub-accounts as adding a few smaller desks to your main desk. The main account assigns funds and permissions, but each sub-account has a fairly independent trading environment.

  • Who can use it: Regular users who complete identity verification and 2FA. However, there is a quantity limit. Regular users can have up to 5 sub-accounts. Higher VIP levels get more.

  • How to use it: Log in to the main account → Profile → Dashboard → Sub-Accounts → Create Sub-Account. Enter an email or virtual email and set a password. After creation, you can transfer funds with no fee in the asset management area.

  • Core limits: Sub-accounts are mainly for trading isolation and strategy allocation. They cannot create complex permission layers like "one person approves, another executes." The main account has full control over sub-accounts, including resetting 2FA or freezing them.

Option 2: Managed Sub-Accounts – Trading access only, no withdrawal rights

This is for a clear split between the "capital owner" and the "trader." The key point is that the person who provides funds keeps control of the money. The trader only has permission to execute trades through API. The trader cannot see strategy details and cannot touch the principal.

  • Who can use it: VIP users. You need to contact Binance VIP support or a relationship manager to open it.

  • How to use it: The owner, using the main account, creates a managed sub-account and links it to a trader account. The owner can view balances and move funds at any time. The trader trades through API and cannot withdraw.

  • Core limits: Only for VIP users, so there is an entry barrier.

Option 3: Institutional custom solutions (Portfolio Account / Delegate Account)

For funds, trading teams, or high-net-worth family offices, Binance has dedicated institutional solutions:

  • Portfolio Account: Trading teams can combine assets from multiple investors into one consolidated account and manage them together. One account executes the strategy, but underlying fund ownership remains traceable. It also offers NAV (net asset value) valuation features.

  • Delegate Account: A business owner can create a "delegate" sub-account, letting a representative complete complicated identity verification (KYB) for the legal entity. Main account permissions are not shared. However, the delegate account cannot transfer funds, trade, or view the main account balance.

Case A: You only want to manage separate accounts for yourself

After completing verification, simply open sub-accounts in the Dashboard. Put funds for different strategies, coins, or risk levels into separate accounts. This makes performance tracking and risk control easier.

Case B: You want to assign different operational permissions to different people (for teams)

If people are at the same level and only want to manage funds separately, sub-accounts can receive allocated funds and operate independently. The main account keeps a full view and emergency control.

If you want a professional trader to manage your funds and you are a VIP, use "managed sub-accounts." The trader can trade but cannot withdraw.

If it involves complex team profit-sharing and compliance management, contact Binance directly and use the portfolio account path.

Risk warning

If you open a personal account and share the password with partners or family, Binance risk control may label it as abnormal account login. There is a chance of freezing. This is not a mistake in operations; it is a platform hard rule to prevent money laundering and fraud. Once frozen, unfreezing requires video verification with your ID and face. If funds are in dispute, it can take even longer.

How to verify after setup

After choosing the right option for your situation, run a "permission limit test":

  1. If using sub-accounts: Log in with the sub-account and try to withdraw or change security settings. Normally, this should be blocked.

  2. If using managed sub-accounts: Try to withdraw or move assets as the trader. It should be fully rejected. Only the main account can do it.
