To convert RLUSD back to USD on Binance, you first need to understand the difference between two actions: selling and redeeming. What you can do in your Binance account is sell, converting RLUSD into USDT or other assets. Redemption, on the other hand, means going directly to the issuer Ripple and exchanging the token for USD in your bank account. That is an operation outside of Binance.

In Your Binance Account You Can Only "Sell", Not "Redeem"
RLUSD is issued by Standard Custody & Trust Company, a subsidiary of Ripple. Every RLUSD token is backed by an equivalent amount of USD deposits or short-term U.S. Treasury bonds. The redemption path works like this: you return RLUSD to the issuer, the issuer burns the tokens, and then sends USD to your bank account.
This path is basically not available to individual users. The issuer's direct redemption service is usually only open to institutional clients or market makers. A more common approach for regular people is to transfer the stablecoin to a compliant platform that supports fiat deposits and withdrawals, sell it there for fiat currency, and then withdraw to a bank card.
So what you can do on Binance is sell RLUSD on the market. The selling price is determined by market supply and demand and does not rely on the issuer's redemption promise.
How to Sell RLUSD on Binance
The spot trading pair for RLUSD on Binance is RLUSD/USDT, so you can exchange RLUSD for USDT. The entry point is on the spot trading page. Find the RLUSD/USDT trading pair, select "Sell", and you can place a market order, which fills immediately, or a limit order, which fills when the price reaches your target.
Binance has previously offered a zero trading fee promotion for RLUSD, but such campaigns have a limited duration. The actual fee rate is whatever is shown on the page when you trade.
After selling for USDT, you have two choices: keep holding USDT, or convert USDT into USD or your local currency through Binance's fiat channels and then withdraw to your bank. This step depends on which fiat channels are supported in your account's region.
If you just want to swap RLUSD for another crypto asset, Binance's Convert feature also supports exchanging RLUSD into BTC, USDT, or other tokens without fees.
Large Orders and Over-the-Counter Trading
If the amount of RLUSD you want to sell is large, with Binance's OTC service reference threshold being above USD 200,000, placing a large sell order directly on the public order book may expose you to slippage or partial fills.
Binance's OTC and execution services are designed for this scenario. They offer request-for-quote or customized execution. You can first get a locked price quote, accept it, and then settle off-exchange. The result goes directly into your spot account, usually within minutes. This service supports stablecoin deposit and withdrawal scenarios and is suitable for users who do not want their large orders to be visible in the market or who want to avoid price slippage.
Things to Keep in Mind
RLUSD deposit and withdrawal status on Binance has differed at times. Binance completed the integration of RLUSD on the XRP network and opened deposits in February 2026, but withdrawals were opened "after sufficient liquidity." If you plan to withdraw RLUSD from Binance to your own wallet, you need to check on the withdrawal page whether that network is available. Withdrawing RLUSD from Binance to an external wallet is different from "selling for USD": withdrawal is moving an asset, while selling is exchanging the unit of account.
Selling RLUSD may involve taxes. In many regions, selling a crypto asset and exchanging it for another asset or fiat currency may be a taxable event. Keeping transaction records is a reasonable practice.
Alternatives to redemption. If you really need to go through the issuer's redemption path, you can keep an eye on whether traditional brokers like Interactive Brokers have opened RLUSD deposit, withdrawal, and conversion features. The support scope, regional restrictions, and specific rules of such channels need to be verified separately and are not operations within a Binance account.
