Many people mix up First Name and Last Name when signing up. For example, they enter "San Zhang" instead of "Zhang San". After submitting, they realize the name order is reversed and does not match their ID.
What Happens If the Name Is Reversed
Suppose you reversed your first and last names when completing Binance KYC. The system may approve it and the account looks normal, but problems appear later when you deposit or withdraw fiat, or when your Binance account name must match your bank card name. This is especially true for P2P trading. If your Binance verified name does not match the bank account name you added, sellers will not release crypto because Binance P2P safety rules require the receiving account name to exactly match your Binance verified name.
How the Mistake Happens
During the KYC process, once you enter your name and click "Continue", the field is locked and cannot be changed manually. Many people do not notice this step and casually click confirm. By the time they realize the mistake, it is too late.
Correct Options: Two Situations
Situation A: KYC review is not approved yet (or you are still filling the form)
Go to the KYC information page and correct the name yourself. Then resubmit your ID photo and facial verification.
If you already submitted but the review is still in progress, try withdrawing the application and filling it out again.
Situation B: KYC is already approved, and the name order is reversed
You cannot fix it yourself. You must contact official customer support.
Steps:
App: Open the Binance App → tap the profile icon in the top left of the home page → go to [Account] → tap [Identity Verification] → look for the "Name/Date of Birth Correction" entry.
Web: Log in to the Binance website → click [Profile] in the top right → [Account] → [Identity Verification] → click "Update Identity Information" or "Name Correction Appeal".
On the appeal page, choose the correct reason. If the order is reversed, select "My legal name sorted wrong". Choosing the wrong reason will cause the appeal to fail.
After submission, Binance's processing time is about three weeks.
Important risk warning: Once you start the identity update process, your account enters "Withdrawal Only" mode. Until the new information is submitted and approved, you cannot deposit, trade, buy or sell on P2P, or perform other operations. You can only withdraw funds. This means if you are in the middle of trading or about to enter the market, updating your name will temporarily remove your ability to operate. Choose a time when you do not need frequent account activity.

Completion Standard
After submitting the name correction, you will see "Under Review" on the [Identity Verification] page. After Binance sends an official email that the review is approved, the name shown on the [Identity Verification] page will exactly match your ID. The pre-filled "Account Holder Name" on the P2P payment method page will also update to the correct name.
