Conclusion first: Auto-subscription is not a single button. It has two types—one is "recurring buy," and the other is "auto-earn for idle funds." The "idle balance setup" you ask about is most likely the second one.
Let me explain the difference first, or you may go to the wrong menu.
Recurring Buy: Automatically buys crypto with fiat on a schedule, such as spending 100 USDT on BTC every Monday. The entry is under [Trade] → [Buy] → [Recurring Buy].
Idle Fund Auto-Earn (Auto-Subscription): Automatically moves idle coins sitting in your spot wallet into Flexible Earn to earn interest. The entry is under [Assets] → [Earn] → [Auto-Subscription].
Below is about the second one—making your idle balance automatically earn interest.
Step 1: Find the "Auto-Subscription" switch
What to do: Enable the feature that automatically moves idle funds into Flexible Earn.
How to do it (App): Tap [Assets] at the bottom → tap [Earn] → look for "Auto-Subscription" or "One-Click Earn" at the top or middle. Tap it, check the terms, and tap "Activate Now."
How to do it (Web): Hover over [Wallet] in the top navigation → select [Earn] → click [Auto-Subscription] under the [Principal Protected] tab. Check the terms and click "Activate Now."
Done when: The page shows "Auto-Subscription enabled" and you can see the "Auto-Subscription settings" entry. At this point, your idle balance will start subscribing to Flexible Earn daily.
Step 2: Manage which coins—choose what idle balances to move
After enabling, the system turns on auto-subscription for all coins by default. You can turn off specific coins individually.
How to do it: Go to [Auto-Subscription] → [Auto-Subscription Settings]. You will see two lists:
My Assets: Coins already subscribed to flexible products
Other Tokens: Coins not subscribed yet
To turn off auto-subscription for one coin: Just switch off the toggle next to that coin. To turn off all at once: Turn off the toggle next to [Manage All Coins].
Common mistake: Some people think turning off the switch means redeeming funds. That is wrong. Turning off the switch only stops new funds from being auto-subscribed. The coins already in Flexible Earn stay there. To move them back to your spot wallet, you need to click "Redeem."
Step 3: Whether fixed-term products should auto-renew
If you deposit into fixed-term Earn (for example, locked for 30 days), there is an "Auto-Subscription" checkbox on the subscription page. If checked, it will automatically renew the same fixed-term product when it expires. If not checked, the principal and interest return to your spot wallet at maturity.
Risk reminder: Auto-subscription does not mean "no loss"
For flexible auto-subscription, if you deposit USDT, the coin itself does not rise or fall much, so risk is very low. But if you deposit volatile coins like BNB or BTC, flexible or fixed-term Earn is not principal-protected—if the coin price drops, your account value drops too, and interest may not make up for the loss. Also, flexible auto-subscription settles twice daily at UTC 02:00 and 16:00 (Beijing time 10:00 and 00:00), not in real time.
How to verify it is working
Go to [Assets] → [Earn] and check whether there are new subscription records in the "Flexible" or "Principal Protected" list. If a coin shows "Subscribing" and interest is accumulating, your idle balance is already working.
