Binance Earn Reward Auto-Compounding Failed: Steps to Check Currency and Balance

Auto-compounding of Earn rewards may fail, but it's usually not a system malfunction. The auto-compound plan requires specific conditions to execute—these include target yield, price spread, matching settlement date window, as well as app version and account balance.

Here are the steps to troubleshoot auto-compound failures.

Step 1: Confirm Your Earn Product Supports Auto-Compounding

Not all Binance Earn products automatically compound rewards. Each product has a different compounding mechanism; first, identify which one you are using.

What to do: Check whether the product you hold supports an Auto-Compound Plan.

How to do it:

  • Dual Investment: Supports custom auto-compound plans, allowing users to automatically reinvest principal and rewards into new products at settlement based on preset conditions (expected APR, target spread, settlement date). The app must be version 3.1.0 or above to use this feature.

  • Recurring Buy: If the "Earn Wallet Balance" option is enabled, when the Spot Wallet balance is insufficient, the system will automatically redeem assets from the Flexible Earn account to complete the recurring purchase. This is an "indirect compounding" mechanism, not auto-compounding of the rewards themselves.

  • Locked Products: Supports the "Auto-Subscribe" function, which can renew a position for the same term upon maturity. However, this only applies to principal renewal; reward distribution logic is independent.

When are you done: You have confirmed your product type and whether it supports the compounding mode you expect.

Common failure reason: Confusing the "balance supplement for Recurring Buy" with "auto-compounding of Earn rewards." The former is a mechanism to cover purchase funds, the latter is a mechanism to reinvest rewards; they are not interchangeable.

Step 2: For Dual Investment — Check Auto-Compound Trigger Conditions

Dual Investment auto-compounding does not execute "automatically at maturity"; it only triggers when preset conditions are met.

What to do: Check whether the parameters of your auto-compound plan match current market conditions.

How to do it:

  • Confirm you selected an auto-compound mode. When subscribing to Dual Investment, you must explicitly specify the autoCompoundPlan parameter, with options including NONE (off), STANDARD (basic plan), and ADVANCED (advanced plan).

  • Check the conditions you set:

    • Minimum APR: If the APR offered by the market product on the settlement date is lower than your set minimum, compounding will not execute.

    • Target Spread: If the market price does not meet your set spread condition, compounding will not execute.

    • Settlement Date Matching: If no product meeting all conditions is matched before 24:00 (UTC+8) on the settlement date, funds will be returned to the Spot Account and will not be auto-compounded.

  • If the Auto Reverse Compound feature is enabled, when the original subscription order reaches the target price, a reverse-direction compound can occur. However, this also requires market conditions to be met to trigger.

When are you done: You have checked each parameter of your compound plan and identified which condition was not met, preventing execution.

Risk reminder: When auto-compound is not triggered, principal and rewards are directly returned to the Spot Wallet and will not "wait" for the next opportunity. Those funds become idle.

Step 3: Check for Insufficient Balance Causing Compound/Purchase Failure

If your funds are in Flexible Earn and the system attempts to auto-compound or recurring buy but finds insufficient balance, the operation will also fail.

What to do: Check whether the available balance in the relevant accounts is sufficient.

How to do it:

  • Recurring Buy's "Earn Wallet Balance" feature: If this option is enabled, when the Spot Wallet balance is insufficient, the system automatically redeems assets from the Flexible Earn account to complete the purchase. If assets in the Earn Wallet are also occupied (e.g., used as collateral for loans), the redemption will fail.

  • Default handling for insufficient Recurring Buy balance: If the feature is not enabled, the purchase will fail when balance is insufficient. The system will retry in the next recurring cycle; if it fails for 6 consecutive months, the Recurring Buy plan will be canceled.

  • It is recommended to regularly delete failed or unused plans to avoid hitting the plan limit (maximum 100 plans).

  • For Locked Products, if you redeem early, distributed rewards will be deducted from the principal, and you will not receive any rewards.

When are you done: You have confirmed the relevant account balance is sufficient and checked whether redemption failed due to "funds being occupied."

How to Confirm the Correct Operation?

After troubleshooting, verify each item in the following order:

  1. Product type confirmation: Does the Earn product you hold truly support the auto-compound mode you expect? Dual Investment supports custom compound plans, Recurring Buy supports balance supplement mechanism, Locked Products support auto-renewal.

  2. Condition matching confirmation: If it's Dual Investment auto-compounding, check whether your set APR, spread, and settlement date conditions match the current market. Compounding won't execute if conditions are not met, and funds will be returned to the Spot Wallet.

  3. Balance status confirmation: In Recurring Buy or redemption scenarios, confirm there are sufficient available funds in the Spot Wallet and Flexible Earn Wallet, not occupied by loans or other purposes.

If all three above are normal but compounding still fails, check whether your app is updated to version 3.1.0 or above — subscriptions submitted from older versions do not support auto-compound plans.
