It did not miss you. OKX has a fixed time window for VIP level updates. It is not the "upgrade as soon as you qualify" process you may expect. The system refreshes once daily from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM (UTC+8), and the new level takes effect the next day. If you miss this window, even if you qualify in the afternoon, you must wait until the same time the next day for the update.
Update Time and Qualification Rules
To understand when VIP levels update and how they are determined, log in to your OKX account and check the Assets page or fee page for your current VIP level and fee rate. OKX determines your VIP level by the higher of two conditions: total account assets (USDT) and 30-day trading volume (USD).
The page will show your current VIP level and the corresponding maker/taker fee rates.
Update Timing in Different Cases
Case A: You just qualified, but today it has not updated yet The system automatically refreshes VIP levels daily between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM (UTC+8). Once you qualify, you are upgraded automatically; no manual application is needed. If your trades happened this afternoon, you still have to wait for the next early-morning refresh even if you already meet the requirement.
Case B: You fell below your current level If your assets or trading volume no longer meet the current level requirement, the system will automatically adjust your level to the one you qualify for the next day. Downgrades also take effect during the same time window.
Case C: You are using sub-accounts The main account's VIP level is automatically synced to all sub-accounts. It takes effect at 00:00 (UTC+8) on the day after the sub-account is created. The main account level is based on the combined assets and trading volume of the main account and all sub-accounts.
Case D: You traded structured products Starting May 28, 2026, trading volume from structured products such as Dual Investment and fixed-coupon products will be included in options trading volume statistics and used for VIP level assessment. The trading volume is converted to USD at the hourly closing price and combined into the rolling 30-day total.
Common Reasons for No Update
Reason 1: Your trading volume comes from certain product types For example, spot, futures, and options trading volumes are calculated separately. Some product categories have their own volume calculation rules. You need to confirm whether the products you traded are included in the VIP calculation for that category.
Reason 2: The daily update window has not arrived yet This is the most common reason. You may qualify, but the system has not yet reached today's refresh time. Wait until the 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM (UTC+8) window passes and check again.
Risk reminder: VIP levels are updated daily, but the change is not instantly reflected on every trade you are making at that moment. If you plan your trades to enjoy a certain level's fee rate, avoid large transactions within about one hour before and after the update window. Also, VIP levels have been expanded to 9 levels; the fee rates and thresholds are based on the official Fee page.

How to Check If the Update Is Done
Want to confirm whether your current fee rate has been updated? Go to the OKX fee page or assets page and check your current VIP level. If the page still shows the old level, the system has not processed your batch yet. Wait until the next early-morning update window ends and check again. If the level has changed but you want to confirm the exact fee numbers, enter a limit order on the trading screen. The system's estimated fee will be calculated using the latest level.
