Why does the platform require "periodic confirmation"?
This is not the platform trying to make things difficult. It is required by global anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CFT) regulations. Your identity information, address, and employment status may change over time. Once key information changes, such as a new nationality or place of residence, the platform needs to update your profile in real time.
What happens if you do not confirm?
Usually the platform gives a grace period. If you do not update within that time:
Withdrawal functions may be restricted. This is the most direct impact.
Trading functions may be restricted, such as being unable to open new positions or use wealth management products.
The highest risk situation: your account may be frozen, and you will need to contact human customer support to verify your identity before it can be unlocked.
Which information needs special attention?
Identity verification (KYC): If your ID card or passport is about to expire, you usually need to update it in advance. Otherwise it will be considered invalid.

How to update
Generally you can handle it on the OKX App under "Profile - Identity Verification" or the "Account Information" page. If the system says "Information expired", simply click "Re-verify" or "Update" and follow the instructions to upload the latest documents.
Risk reminder: If you notice that your "proof of address" or "document validity period" is about to expire, it is recommended to update it 1-2 weeks in advance to leave enough time for review. Do not wait until your account is frozen before dealing with it.
