How OKX Pay Deposits Work in Brazil: Pix, Conversion, and Withdrawals

OKX Pay deposits in Brazil go through Pix, with zero fees, and only accept transfers initiated from a bank account registered under your own CPF. Pix transfers sent by third parties (spouse, friends, company accounts) are automatically returned, even if your bank shows the transfer as successful. After depositing, funds arrive in your OKX account as BRL, and you can directly use BRL to buy USDC, USDT, or USDG.

Deposits: Pix rules and how to do it

In the OKX App, enter Pay mode, select "Add funds" (Adicionar fundos), then choose Pix deposit. The system will generate a Pix key (actually the CNPJ number of OKX's Brazilian entity) or a QR code.

Key step: you must initiate the Pix from a bank account registered under your own CPF. OKX's recipient shows as OKX Servicos Digitais Ltda. If you transfer using a spouse's, family member's, or company account, the money will be automatically returned and will not stay in your OKX account.

Pix deposits have no fees, and processing time is usually within minutes. The minimum deposit amount is R$5; anything below that will be rejected.

About limits: there is a monthly limit of R$50,000, but there is no daily limit (at least no daily limit is mentioned in the official explanation). In practice, you can tap the info icon on the deposit screen to check the specific limits currently applied to your account. If you need to raise the limit, you can submit a request in the App, which may require proof of income (such as an income tax return).

An easy mistake to make: if you transfer using TED or DOC instead of Pix, OKX will return it, but the refund may take up to 15 days because it requires manual review.

Conversion: turning BRL into stablecoins

Once BRL arrives, you can convert BRL into USDC, USDT, or USDG (OKX's own USD stablecoin) inside OKX Pay.

One of OKX Pay's main selling points is instant conversion from BRL to stablecoins, without going through traditional banks or foreign exchange intermediaries. According to OKX's promotion, using stablecoins as the settlement layer can avoid Brazil's IOF tax (financial operations tax, currently 3.5%) and foreign exchange spreads.

OKX Pay's stablecoin balance is not locked and offers up to 10% annual percentage yield (APY), calculated daily and distributed weekly.

Withdrawals: getting BRL back to your bank

If you need to move funds back to a Brazilian bank account, you also use Pix withdrawal.

Path: OKX App → Transferir → Levantar (Withdraw), select Brazilian Real (BRL), choose a linked bank account, enter the amount, preview, and confirm.

Pix withdrawals usually arrive within minutes. The minimum withdrawal amount is R$5, and withdrawals also have no fees.

There are two ways to link a bank account: the easiest is to complete one successful Pix deposit, and your bank account will be automatically verified and added to the withdrawal whitelist. If you manually add bank account details, the withdrawal will be rejected if the account information (including account number) cannot be verified by OKX's partner bank.

An equally important rule: withdrawals can only go to a bank account under your own CPF. If the CPF or name on the target withdrawal account does not match your OKX account, the withdrawal will be rejected and the funds returned to your OKX account.

Where you might get stuck

Pix deposit was returned. The most common reason is that the CPF on the paying account does not match the CPF on your OKX account. Even a spouse's or family member's account will be returned. Check whether the bank account you used is your own.

Withdrawal failed. First confirm that the CPF and name on the target bank account match your OKX account. Also check whether your OKX account has any pending on-chain deposits or ongoing trades/Simple Earn subscriptions occupying part of your funds, which can cause insufficient available balance.

Can't see the Pix deposit or withdrawal option. Pix is currently only available to Brazilian users and requires completed KYC. If you are not in Brazil or your KYC has not passed, these options will not appear.
