Do not release crypto yet. As long as the payer's name does not match the other party's verified OKX real name, you must never release crypto.

Third-party payment is a clearly prohibited red line in OKX P2P trading. Releasing crypto carelessly could easily get you involved in money laundering or fraud cases.
Step 1: Confirm whether you are dealing with a "third-party payment"
Check who actually sent you the money.
Open your bank or payment app and check the payer name on the incoming transfer. Then open the OKX P2P order page and check the other party's verified real name.
Case A (names match exactly): This is a normal transaction. Follow the process and release crypto.
Case B (names do not match): Stop immediately. This is a third-party payment.
High-risk reminder: Transfer screenshots, SMS notifications, and payment vouchers sent by the other party can all be faked. Only trust the actual incoming payment information shown in your bank app.
Step 2: Handle it according to the official process
After discovering that the payer name does not match, follow three steps. Do not act on your own.
Step one, confirm the money really arrived. Check your receiving account, such as bank card, Alipay, or WeChat, to confirm that the money has actually arrived. Do not trust any screenshots sent by the other party.
Step two, contact the buyer and request cancellation. Contact the buyer through the order page chat window, explain that the payer name does not match the platform verified name, and ask the other party to cancel the order. All communication must be completed within the OKX app chat box. Do not move the conversation to WeChat, Telegram, or other platforms.
If the other party agrees to cancel, you must refund the full amount through the original payment channel within 12 hours.
Step three, if the other party does not cooperate, appeal directly. If the buyer does not respond, refuses to provide payment proof, or urges you to release crypto, click the Appeal button on the order page directly. Customer service will step in.
Completion standard: either the order has been cancelled and the money has been returned through the original route, or an appeal has been submitted and you are waiting for customer service to handle it.
Why third-party payments are so dangerous
Third-party payments are often linked to "triangular fraud":
The scammer sends you money from a stolen bank account.
You receive the money and release crypto.
The real account owner discovers the theft and reports it to the police.
Your bank card is frozen, and the crypto is gone too.
At that point, platform customer service cannot help you either, because the payment was completed outside the platform.

Next action
Open your bank app now and confirm the payer name on that incoming transfer. If it does not match the buyer name on the order, do not release crypto yet—follow the process above. Either negotiate cancellation and refund through the original route, or click Appeal on the order page directly. Do not hesitate.
