Have you never set up "Large Withdrawal Protection" in your account? If a large withdrawal was suddenly blocked, it may not be because you turned on this feature. Instead, OKX's risk control system (Eagle Eye) may have independently triggered face verification.

Large Withdrawal Protection is a security feature launched by OKX in July 2026. It only takes effect if you actively set it up yourself. First check whether you have enabled it before deciding what to do.

What is Large Withdrawal Protection

It is a security line of defense that you actively set up yourself. On top of the platform's existing risk control, you can set your own 24-hour cross-channel cumulative withdrawal threshold, ranging from 10,000 to 10 million USD equivalent.

Once your cumulative withdrawals through on-chain crypto withdrawals, C2C selling, API withdrawals, and other channels within 24 hours reach or exceed this amount, the system will block the next operation and require you to complete face verification (Eagle Eye) before you can continue.

Activation Conditions

  • Account status: Must be a main account that has completed KYC identity verification. Sub-accounts and unverified accounts cannot see this entry.

  • App version: The app must be version 6.176.0 or above to set up and use this feature.

Setup Entry

Path: Security Center → Advanced Security Settings → Withdrawal Protection → Large Withdrawal Protection.

What to Do After It Is Triggered

  • If you are already using this feature: When a block prompt appears, complete face verification as required by the system. After verification passes, the withdrawal will continue.

  • If you have not enabled it but were blocked: This situation means the platform's risk control system (Eagle Eye) independently triggered verification, and it has nothing to do with Large Withdrawal Protection. Just complete face verification according to the page prompts. This is a normal account security measure.

Risk warning: Enabling Large Withdrawal Protection itself does not require verification, but raising the threshold and disabling the feature both require face verification. If you receive a push notification or email saying "threshold modified" or "feature disabled" but you did not do it yourself, reset your password or freeze your account immediately — it means your account may have been controlled by someone else.

Two Special Situations That Are Easy to Get Wrong

  • API withdrawals: If an API withdrawal exceeds the threshold, it will be directly blocked and cannot be released through face verification. You need to switch to the web or app to operate, or log in to your account first and raise the threshold before retrying.

  • Sub-accounts: Withdrawal amounts from sub-accounts are counted toward the main account's 24-hour cumulative limit. If a sub-account operation exceeds the limit, it will also be blocked.

How to verify after completing the operation: If Large Withdrawal Protection was triggered, go to [Security Center] → [Large Withdrawal Protection] after completion and check your current cumulative withdrawal progress and threshold. If it was independently triggered by the risk control system, the withdrawal status will change from "blocked" to "processing" after verification passes. Then go to your withdrawal records to confirm whether the status of that transaction has returned to normal.
