How to Deposit THETA on OKX? A Funding Tutorial

If you hold THETA on another exchange or in a wallet and plan to transfer it to OKX, this guide is for you. If you have fiat or USDT and need to swap it for THETA, follow the buying process (see "Case B" below).
Steps
Case A: Deposit THETA from an external wallet or other exchange to OKX
Get your OKX THETA deposit address: Open the OKX app or website, go to [Assets] - [Deposit]. Search for "THETA", and in the network dropdown menu, you must select "Theta Network". The system will generate an address starting with "0x" (because the Theta mainnet is EVM compatible). Copy it.
Initiate the transfer on the sending platform: Go to the platform where your THETA is stored (e.g., imToken, another exchange), and choose "Withdraw" or "Send". Paste the address you copied in step 1 as the destination address.
Verify the network and submit: Confirm that the sending platform's selected network is also Theta Network. Some platforms may default to a different network. Selecting the wrong network (e.g., BSC) will result in permanent loss of your funds. Double-check the address, enter the amount, review the network fee, and submit the transaction.
When is it considered complete?: When the sending platform shows "Withdrawal Successful" and generates a TxID (transaction hash).
Case B: Buy THETA on OKX using existing funds
Ensure your account has funds: In the OKX [Assets] section, first make sure you have a USDT or fiat balance. If not, go to [Buy Crypto] to top up via card or P2P.
Go to the trading page and place an order: Click [Trade] - [Spot], search for "THETA", and select the THETA/USDT pair. Enter the amount you want to buy. A market order executes instantly; a limit order will fill when the market reaches your price.
When is it considered complete?: When the order status shows "Filled" and you can see an increased THETA balance on the [Assets] page.
Common Failure Reasons and Risk Reminders
Common failure reason: Sending via the wrong network. If you deposit THETA over the BSC (BEP-20) or ERC-20 network to OKX's Theta mainnet address, the funds will not be credited automatically. This requires manual intervention by the support team, which is time-consuming and complicated.
Risk reminder: Your OKX THETA deposit address is permanent, but you should still revisit the deposit page before each transaction to check for network changes or suspension of deposits/withdrawals. If the platform has paused THETA deposits due to a mainnet upgrade, forcing a transfer at that time will result in missing funds.

How to Confirm the Transfer Was Successful
After sending, go to OKX [Assets] - [Transaction History] and filter by THETA. If you see a record showing "Deposit Pending" or "Deposit Successful", the address was correct and the funds will be credited once the required number of block confirmations is met, usually within minutes. If the TxID shows "Success" on a Theta blockchain explorer for more than an hour but OKX still does not show the deposit, submit a ticket to OKX support with the TxID.
