How to Deposit STX on OKX? Stacks Bitcoin L2 Funding Tutorial
Depositing STX to OKX does not require a Memo. Stacks uses a Bitcoin L2 architecture, which differs from shared-address blockchains like EOS or XRP—the exchange assigns a unique deposit address to each user, so there is no Memo or Tag field to fill in.

Prerequisites
Make sure you have these two things covered before you start:
You have completed identity verification (KYC) on OKX. Otherwise the deposit function will not be available.
You hold STX in another exchange or wallet and know how to initiate a withdrawal.
Step-by-Step Guide
Scenario A: Depositing STX from an external wallet or another exchange to OKX
Get your OKX STX deposit address: Open the OKX App or website, tap Assets – Deposit. Search for "STX" and select the Stacks network. The system will generate a deposit address (starting with "SP"). Copy it. You will not see a Memo or Tag field on this page—STX does not require one.
Initiate the transfer on the sending platform: Go to wherever your STX is held (another exchange or wallet) and select "Withdraw" or "Send". Paste the address you copied in Step 1 into the recipient address field.
Confirm the network and submit: The network selected on the sending platform must be Stacks. Double-check the address, enter the amount, confirm the miner fee, and submit the transaction.
How you know this step is done: The sending platform shows "Withdrawal successful" and generates a TxID (transaction hash).
Scenario B: Buying STX with funds on OKX
First, make sure your OKX account has a USDT or fiat balance. If not, go to the Buy Crypto page to add funds first.
Go to Trade – Spot Trading, search for "STX", and select the STX/USDT trading pair.
Enter the amount you want to buy. A market order fills instantly; a limit order will be placed and filled when the price is reached.
How you know this step is done: The order status shows "Filled", and your STX balance on the Assets page has increased.
Common Failure Causes and Risk Reminders
Common failure cause: Wrong network or suspended deposits. If you send STX via the wrong network (such as the BTC network or ERC20) to OKX's Stacks address, the funds cannot be credited automatically. Additionally, if OKX has suspended STX deposits and withdrawals due to network maintenance (such announcements appear on the deposit page), forcing a transfer will result in delayed crediting.
Risk reminder: The STX deposit address OKX assigns to each user is fixed, but it is recommended to revisit the deposit page before every transfer to confirm the network status is normal and the address has not changed.

How to Confirm Everything Went Correctly
After the transfer is complete, go to OKX Assets – Transaction History and filter by STX. If you see a record showing "Deposit pending" or "Deposit successful", it means the address was correct and the funds have entered OKX's system. If the TxID shows "Success" on a Stacks blockchain explorer for more than 30 minutes but OKX does not reflect the deposit, contact OKX customer support with your TxID.
