If your funds are still frozen after you cancel an order, it is usually not a system glitch. You probably have other open orders using that money, or the funds are being used as margin for other positions.

Goal

Find where the frozen funds actually went, then cancel other open orders or release margin so the money returns to your available balance.

Step 1: Check for Other Open Orders in "Current Orders"

This is the most common cause. If you placed limit orders in your spot, futures, or margin account, the system freezes the funds until those orders are filled, which lowers your available balance.

How to check: Open the OKX App or website → go to the Trade page → tap the Orders or My Orders icon in the top right → view all unfilled orders.

Done when: You manually cancel any orders that are far from the market price or have not filled for a long time. After canceling, refresh the funds page and check whether your available balance has recovered.

Step 2: Check Margin Usage in Futures or Margin Accounts

If you trade futures or use margin, some USDT or BTC may be automatically used as margin and will not count toward your spot available balance. If you have assets but cannot open a position, margin usage is likely tying up your balance.

How to check: Go to Assets → switch to Unified Account or Isolated Margin view → check the Margin Balance and Available Margin figures.

Done when: If margin usage is unusually high, close some positions or lower your leverage. The locked funds will then be released back to your available balance.

Step 3: Check Whether a C2C Crypto Purchase Triggered a T+N Lock

If you just bought crypto through C2C, the funds may have triggered the platform's T+N risk-control protection. This can stop withdrawals or selling for N days. Depending on the risk level, the restriction may last 1, 3, 7, 15, or 30 days.

How to check: On the Assets page, look for a "Locked Assets" section in the middle → tap View Details → tap C2C Orders to see the exact unlock time.

Done when: You wait for the system to unlock automatically (T+1 cannot be appealed), or submit appeal materials on the locked assets page for T+3/T+7 orders.

Step 4: Check Whether a Fund Transfer Is Delayed

After transferring funds from a sub-account, savings account, or Web3 wallet to your spot account, there may be a short sync delay during which the funds are unavailable.

How to check: Go to Assets → Fund Transfer and confirm whether the latest transfer status shows "Completed." If it still shows "Processing," wait 5 minutes, or tap the Refresh icon in the top right of the spot account page to force a balance update.

Done when: The transfer status changes to "Completed" and the available balance returns to normal after refreshing.

Anti-Fraud Warning

High risk: Some users look for "unfreeze" services online to save time. OKX officially states that except for official customer support, you should not trust any third party claiming to handle account funds being frozen. All real actions are inside the OKX website or app. Anything outside that is a scam.

Final Check Standard

On the Assets page, the "Available Balance" amount should return to the expected amount after your canceled order. If you triggered a T+N lock, you should be able to see the unlock countdown or the exact unlock time for that order.
