1. Why Transfer?
When you buy coins on OKX (e.g., USDT via C2C), the funds are stored by default in your [Funding Account]. However, to place a trade, you need a balance in your [Trading Account] — this is why you might have coins but see an "insufficient balance" message when trying to trade.
Transferring moves funds from one account to another within the platform, free of charge and in real time.
2. App Steps
Open the OKX App and tap [Assets] on the bottom navigation bar.
Tap the [Transfer] button.
Select the coin (e.g., USDT).
Choose "From: Funding Account → To: Trading Account" (reverse for withdrawals).
Enter the amount and tap [Confirm].
Tap the arrow in the middle to switch the transfer direction.
3. Web Steps
Log in to the OKX website and click [Asset Management] in the top right corner.
Click [Fund Transfer].
Select the coin and transfer direction (Funding Account → Trading Account).
Enter the amount and click [Confirm].
4. Troubleshooting Transfer Failures
If the transfer does not go through after confirming, check the following in order:
1. Frozen Assets: Assets in open orders, unredeemed savings, or staked are "frozen" and cannot be transferred. Cancel orders or redeem first.
2. Open Positions in Trading Account: If the trading account holds open contracts or leveraged positions, some funds may be occupied. The principal can be transferred out, but profits must wait until positions are closed.
3. Daily Deposit Limit Reached: If your daily deposit exceeds the limit, the excess may be restricted and released gradually over subsequent days.
4. Active Savings Subscription: Funds in savings products that have not matured must be redeemed before transfer.
5. Outstanding Spot Leverage Debt: If you have unpaid debt in spot leverage trading, transfer is blocked.

5. Quick Feature: Auto-Transfer on Deposit
In [Assets] - [Deposit], you can set the "deposit account" to [Funding Account], so deposited funds automatically go to the funding account. If you want funds to be directly available for trading, change the default account to the trading account to skip manual transfer.
Do funding and trading account balances sync automatically?
No. The two accounts operate independently and require manual transfer to exchange funds. This is why your funding account may have coins, but the trading page shows a zero balance.
